Thanks to the technological wonder of YouTube (online digital videos), thousands of people across the world got a rare inside look at how pro-homosexual teachers and administrators indoctrinate very young children. Funny thing – and it’s the only funny thing about this story – is that the video clips in question are more than 10 years old. They come from an activist film called “It’s Elementary” made in 1996 by the San Francisco-based group Women’s Educational Media, which has been using this film and others to promote pro-homosexual teachings to young children in schools across the nation.

Pastors: Act Now Or Prepare For Jail

I’ve already told you about how H.R. 1592 will destroy equal justice (setting up a victim hierarchy), set up a Gay Gestapo with unlimited funds and send grandma to jail for sharing her faith on the public sidewalk, as happened in Philadelphia. But what you may not know is how this bill scheduled for a vote in the House this week will come after pastors and all those who disagree with the homosexual agenda out loud. H.R. 1592 the so-called “hate crimes” bill isn’t about hate. It isn’t about “crimes” (there are already stiff penalties against crimes); it’s about speech.

Forget theory. Let me give you a real-world example. Here’s a question: Which is worse? Actions or words? Robbing someone or calling him a mean name? Which one deserves the greater penalty?

Before you answer, let’s say the name was really mean, like being called “Four-eyes!” I played on the public school playground, used to wear glasses and have been victimized personally by such horrific verbal assaults. They hurt my feelings. And there ought to be stiff penalties for something like that. Stiff like 23 years behind bars? I don’t think so. But the state of New Hampshire does.

Ok, assuming this thread was started to generate a discussion, I’d like to step in here to note that not all of what those videos in the first post are bad.

Having seen how cruel kids can be to others who are ‘different’ - whether it be by race, body composition, abilities/disabilities, or being a ‘test tube’ baby of two men or two women - I can assure you something has to be done to stop the madness of discrimination.

It is not in man’s nature to be a bigot. That is a learned behavior, and children learn it from day one based on what they see their parents, relatives, neighbors do and say.

It is a fact that gay youth are spit upon in some areas of this great nation, ostracized, beaten, mutilated, killed - just for being different. What the first training video does is try to stop that line of thinking - stop that learned behavior to be repulsed by a person because of they way they walk, talk, dress, whatever. Being brought into a homosexual pairing should not go against the innocent child. Schools are faced with children from kindergarten on who have two moms or two dads. Should they really be afraid to be proud of that? Should they really have to be subjected to teasing from their classmates if they don’t ‘keep the secret’?

Where the second video went too far, I would agree completely, is in that assignment for young kids to discuss whether or not the current laws of the land are correct/fair. Without providing the history/background of why the laws are they way they are it is not right to encourage youngster to determine right/wrong based on ‘feelings’.

Anyway, I don’t know about all the other links in this thread - there are so many I haven’t braced myself to follow each one - but I’m asking PLAL what the point is of this thread? Are you angry? Are you outraged? Do you disagree with every single aspect of these approaches? Do you see any value at all in at least attempting to stop the discrimination toward homosexuals?

Homosexuals have been around since the fall, apparently, as they are mentioned in the Old Testament. Catholic teaching does not encourage us to turn away from the sinner, to spit on them, to yell at them, to judge them even. Catholicism calls on us to treat them with respect, dignity, compassion, love - always speaking the truth to them to help them see the light, that God loves them as they are, not their behavior, but them - and that He wants them to find courage to live a chaste life - and He offers them His flock to support them in their effort. That’s you and me and every Christian. These training films should never have had to have been produced if we would have been living the Christian life in the first place.
 
Regarding the ADL definition of Homophobia.

I did not read anything in their definition which was not correct. Please point out to me the sentence(s) which you feel are false.

In the paragraph in which churches are mentioned I find it very, very interesting how they stated truth in that paragraph totally without mention of anything negative. They couldn’t because it would be a lie. What they’ve put there are 4 statements of truth and they didn’t link a single one of them to homophobia, fear, violence, even discrimination.

The ‘bias’ statement is true because it can’t be false since it’s stating what some homosexuals ‘feel’ to be bias in churches and other organizations. Notice they didn’t say The Catholic Church, or name any particular protestant denomination. Are there churches in America with a definite bias against homosexuals? Yes. Are there some organizations with a definite bias against homosexuals? Yes.

Can anyone deny what the other paragraphs write about are real? There are a myriad of legal cases to back up what was written.

So what is the real objection to the ADLs write up?

My children attend a public school. My daughter is a member of the GSA there (Gay/Straight/Alliance). She is proud to represent a non-homophobic straight Catholic in living her faith by treating those who are indeed targeted on campus for ridicule, vile spurs and violence. She knows first hand the nastiness thrown in the direction of these confused and not-so-confused teens as she’s thrown herself in the middle of a scuffle or two to stop the hate.

If the straight Christians do not show up to represent compassion and education then we give up the fight on our campuses. We already know the homosexual agenda is heavily pushed through groups like GSA and LGBT. At least in GSA straight people can be represented to counter with love and truth the lies which are being fed to these kids. My daughter serves as an opportunity to see a different side to this SSA. Not everyone needs to give in to it and she’s able to explain that with these kids.

In the meantime, she sees the hate and anger in her fellow classmates and wants it to stop. Again, I say, if Christians truly lived out the faith groups like GSA wouldn’t be necessary on our campuses to offer security and a sense of protection for those struggling with SSA when the hormones are raging anyway. Education should be available to all people and a hostile environment leads to increased drop out rates and suicide for those ostracized for one reason or another. Race, disabilities, even differences in economic/social status for kids, who have no control over those variables, are enough to warrant a student a ‘target’ across campuses in this great nation, and that’s a shame.

Actually, that’s rather clever, really. I think the message was right, but they lost on the delivery attempt.

In our school district NO t-shirts promoting ANY agenda is allowed on campus. This is mostly to protect from gang retaliation and such. I would be surprised to learn this school didn’t have that policy in effect as it seems to be state-wide, as far as I know (and I’m in IL too).

Since the Day of Silence is something which is managed through passive resistance and holding up a card when spoken to, perhaps that is the approach the other group should have tried.

Then again, the Day of Silence isn’t about stating the gay lifestyle is the correct lifestyle. It’s about stopping the hate against those who choose this lifestyle. Heterosexual students are targets of anger, abuse, violence on a daily basis on a campus. It’s that simple.

What this Be Happy Not Gay campaign does is speak against the lifestyle itself. It’s missing the point the other side was making. The GSA people are not trying to persuade the heterosexuals on campus to live a homosexual lifestyle, so why should a campus allow a heterosexual group try to persuade homosexuals on campus to live a heterosexual lifestyle?

Very well done. This kid managed to get a Day of Truth put into action where the other school didn’t.

I’m surprised this student was allowed to where the shirt at his high school the day after Day of Silence and to preach about Jesus on campus. It doesn’t state if it was a public or private institution. If it was private, then based on what he described as what took place on that campus definitely needed to be confronted!

The article also doesn’t address how this message was delivered to his classmates. Was it in a school newspaper? Was it a speech? When/how was it delivered, if so? Was it an editorial? How was it received?

What he says is commendable, particularly about how so many Christians leave these confused people to the sharks. That has been my point all along. I’m all for delivering Truth in a compassionate way. If we can/have to infiltrate the organizational structures which are brainwashing these kids then we should rise to the challenge. With the Lord by our side and the Spirit to guide us we can reach out to these kids. This kid was not afraid. He didn’t join GSA, though I think he’d be just what the group needs, but he used his own loving way (a bit too in-your-face for my liking, but given what he was facing on his campus, perhaps it was called for).
 
What’s wrong with this again? I watched the first video… They talk about some people who are involved in culture and arts who are gay. They talk about deragotory language and discrimination. I don’t see anything wrong with this video. Tolerance is golden.

The first one seemed ok with me as well.
But the second one in that first link was not and I stated it’s because it asked the children (who are children, not adults with full faculty of reasoning) to use their ‘feelings’ to determine whether or not our laws are just. They missed an important civics lesson in that approach because they did not give the history of why the laws are set the way they are first. They set up a leading scenario which is already negative towards the laws and then they encourage the kids to explore why it’s not right and talk about it.

As a parent, however, my kids did come home asking about why the laws are the way they are one day, and I used that opportunity not only to explain the reasons for that, but also to teach them how they were being manipulated in the classroom so that they could be aware of the agenda going on in society. Fortunately my kids were in middle school at that time so it was a pretty good age to have that type of discussion. But these little ones really were deprived a bit of their innocence with this appoach, in my opinion.

A new bill, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), has been introduced in the House of Representatives by homosexual Congressman Barney Frank. The bill (HR 2015) would force organizations such as the Boy Scouts, Veterans of Foreign Wars, day care centers, Christian business owners, adoption agencies, public schools, municipalities and a host of other businesses and organizations to hire homosexual applicants.
ENDA would make it illegal to fire, refuse to hire or refuse to promote an employee based on his or her sexual orientation or “gender identity.” Such acts would be considered crimes subject to severe penalties. For a list of the co-sponsors of ENDA, click here.
The same day that ENDA was introduced, another bill — commonly called the Hate Crimes Act (HR 1592) — cleared committee for a full vote by the House. **The Hate Crimes Act criminalizes a vast array of state and local acts and threatens religious leaders with criminal prosecution for their thoughts, beliefs, and statements. **
The intent of the Hate Crimes Act is to give special status to homosexuals. Republicans tried to expand the “protected class” in the bill to include senior citizens, pregnant women, prior victims, children under 18, the unborn, court witnesses, the military and more. Democrats defeated all amendments, projecting the welfare of homosexuals above other classes of citizens. The House Judiciary Committee then passed the bill on strict party lines —20 Democrats for and 14 Republicans against.

The question begs to be asked whether or not schools should teach moral issues, which in my opinion, they should not. From whose perspective are these issues being based off of?

These attempts to target the young seem to be genuine social experimentation. Thank the Lord for the Catholic Church and those who are willing to challenge the status quo.

BTW, tolerance is not golden. It can be sinful, as is the case for purporting a lifestyle, (ie homsexual activity), that is harmful for the individuals involved. Jesus never spoke about tolerance for all, and in fact his actions were contrary to that quite often. Instead he looked towards the individual person, to move that person from a sinful act. (ie, the stoning of the adulturer).

There are many for whom the status quo is bigotry, abuse, vilification, and assault against gays. If the Church stands against such behavior, then I have to give it a great deal of credit.

Of course the Church is against violence of any kind against peoples of any kind. With that said though, the Church can promote the dignity of all humans while at the same time teaching against a homosexual lifestyle because the Church’s view is that a homosexual lifestyle does not promote the dignity of the individual; rather, the opposite. Thats what I mean by challenging the status quo.

What about verbal assaults like calling someone fat, or four eyes or abuse by the bully in the class or other verbal abuses.

I see no need to have a specific day or week for “homosexuality”. This alone shows there is a pro-gay agenda in our schools. Also no way would I want this taught before 7th grade and topics like this should not be taught in the schools but leave it up to the parents at home.
By the way the pro-gay lobby is promoting “Hate Crime” legislation which would send people to jail for verbally saying anything against “homosexuality”. In Canada, this legislation has sent Catholic Priests to jail for teaching what the Bible says about “homosexuality”. Now they are trying to Ban Bibles. Be careful, this will all soon be coming to America!

The ONLY reason there’s a specific day or week for that as opposed to against all the other bullying issues you correctly noted is because of the organization behind the message. If victims of bullying would unite, legalize, organize political active groups and hire lawyers to draft legislation in their favor, we’d have a week for that too.

It shows the pro-gay agenda infiltrates our schools under the ‘guise’ of teaching against discrimination/violence. I do not deny there is a deeper underlying deceptive motive to their being in the schools at such a young age. They do indeed want to influence more people to sway in their direction and that is the real danger. How to selectively use the ‘good’ stuff from the organizations without letting in the ‘bad’.

I’ve read about that. It seems insane, but the really scary part is it will probably pass and we will just have to keep on movin’ on in the right direction despite the stupid laws.
 
When I was in third grade, I learned, from the Baltimore Catechism, of the “four sins that cry out to God for vengeance: murder, sodomy, oppression of widows and orphans, and cheating laborers out of their just wages.” (Is this still taught?)

Murder I could understand, but the others didn’t mean much to me. Sodomy, thankfully, was just an unknown word. I didn’t know of anybody with two moms. I’m afraid the concept would have been unintelligible. I didn’t even understand how there could be “half-brothers.”.
