Phillis Tickle makes a good general point about sola scrptura

It was about time that the protestand community started to question the man made beliefs handed down to them and its also intersting to read the lengths that some protestant belivers will go to deny her.

Ps i know Phillis is no catholic aplogetic

Looking at the beliefs she is espousing (there are a number of short clips on YouTube as well) this lady isn’t a friend to catholicism-she’s simply the evangelical equivalent of the modernism that infected the catholic church many years ago. Just as some within the RCC embraced the modernist concepts and others became more focused on traditional teachings, in the same way, some of these third-wavers will accept her ideas and others will become even more firmly convinced that the Bible is essential as their rule of faith.

Given that the Internet references suggest she is pushing for a church that affirms homosexuality and a reinvention of liturgical forms and community while shedding Christian “particulars” , the likelihood that this is God’s method to have protestants re-evalutate sola scriptura is unlikely imho. :cool:

You can say that until you are blue in the face but it will continue to be ignored. Some people would rather continue to classify all Protestants under that banner regardless of how wrong that belief is.
 
Not all Protestants agree on what sola scriptura means, either. In fact, not all of them know if they even teach it.
