That is what I have heard other people say. It will be interesting to read what L’Osservatore Romano says later today. There’s supposed to be an accompanying explanation there.

I’ll be going for my first time tomorrow. I may not receive Communion just yet, in order to be sure that everything has moved along… “smoothly”.​

This is great news on so many levels. One really has to admire Pope Benedict XVI who appears to have not even flinched at the flood of complaints coming from the Jewish community. I find it strange that I feel almost a sense of shock at the fact that these complaints were ignored and that Catholicism, Catholics and the salvation of souls was put before ecumenical relationships. This has really brightened my view of His Holiness.

Also, perhaps many young traditionalists can feel more comfortable with looking to the SSPX for their vocation.

I’m looking forward to seeing how many new people are at Church tomorrow. It will be interesting.

If anyone here lives in the Houston, TX area, and wants to attend an SSPX Church for the first time with me, let me know.

We’ll believe it if or when it happens. We get such rumours every few months. How is it official? Has the Vatican actually publicly declared this and if so, where is the documentary evidence and I don’t mean a newspaper! Where can we find the decree referred to in Bishop Fellay’s letter?

Um… my original post links to the formal decree posted on the Vatican’s website. Is that seriously not good enough for you?

Maybe now is a good time to remember Fr. Z’s Rule #2 for engagement.

Which is why PR is not a function of the Pope. He is here to feed Christ sheep.

Remember that it will be much easier to change Williamson’s heart and mind with him in the Church. Pray that they are changed.
