Nothing has changed as regards the laity, not to trivialize the event or anything. You may attend mass there, just like you could have last week, but must go to confession with a priest who has been granted that faculty by your bishop, i.e. not the SSPX priest. The main difference is that the appearance and stigma of schism is no longer really attached with attendance there, but they are not yet fully regularized. If things go downhill from here that may change again. So…should I wait for more news before I attend a Mass at the SSPX chapel near me? I’ve never been to the EF, and neither of the parishes in my city will offer it (we have two parishes in a city of 130,000). But a 20 minute drive could have me attending my first EF Mass, and I’m excited about that prospect!
As far as the Pope or anyone else owing Lefebvre and the SSPX an apology and that they have now been proven right: Why should anyone apologize to them because Lefebvre threw a childish tantrum and tried to claim protection under canon 1323 saying that it was gravely necessary and inconvenient for him to wait 45 days to have his bishop consecrated with the full approval and authority of the Pope? Foolishness. This whole ordeal is simply because he acted like a child. 20 years of this because, FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON, he decided to tell the Pope and the Church to shove off, that he’s going to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants.
I plan on going to mass there tomorrow, so don’t bother accusing me of being some liberal modernist heretic or anything.
Yes, excellent point. The proscriptions against attending for fear of schism and whatnot would still be valid arguments against attending there. If you would be loathe to give up attendance at such a parish and return to your old parish if discussion went downhill and no regularization was foreseeable, then I would recommend you not go in the first place.Probably not:

at least, not advisible, until more information is given. Fear of schism or heresy among parishioners was also feared, and as to their priests, is the censure lifted?
We will have to wait and see!

No. There is speculation that they will govern an international diocese dedicated to traditionalists. Will these Bishops be assigned to a Diocese?
No. I`m curious as to where this idea came from…Do they believe that Pope John Paul II is an anti-pope?
Nothing yet. They want him to interpret Vatican II in the light of Tradition, which in their view would involve dispensing with parts of it and clarifying others. What have they agreed to in their discussions with Pope Benedict?
Just an opinion, but I think what it will do is increase the memberships of both Extraordinary Rite practicing Parishes and SSPX Chapels. This will I feel lead to a MUCH wider application of the Extraordinary Rite.OK, but please don’t forget your regular EF parish. This decree wasn’t meant to cause disunity.
The Pope may speak to the contrary and say we are completely free to attend there, but until he does we should follow the teachings we have been delivered to us from the appropriate authorities and be careful about our attendance there, taking into consideration not only our intentions but the appearance as well. Yes, I would say that the Pope has told me that personally just as much as he has personally delivered any Catholic teaching to me through the Church.
Has the Pope told this to you personally.
Also the sad week Roe vs Wade became law under another President.http://profile.ak.facebook.com/object3/1297/116/l14771515311_9002.jpg
The week fraud obama becomes president. We NOW have something to celebrate !!!
You are right but the faculties of hearing confession are granted by the local bishop, whether the priest has been suspended or not.Nothing has changed as regards the laity, not to trivialize the event or anything. Like the death-march to Bataan, etc.The Germans were actually meticulous record keepers, at least in the camps themselves. . That has been proven even more so with the somewhat recent release of a number of previously classified sources of information. Not only did they record the numbers that were executed, but their names, ethnicities, place of birth family members, personal possessions confiscated and in some cases their physical attributes, tattoos etc.
Whether or not the actual number of those executed is ever actually known the carnage was horrific and must never be forgotten or minimized. Evil walked the Earth and had dominion big time in those years
On a personal tangent though, I would ask why there has never been the same moral outrage raised about the Japanese treatment of those under its domination during the same period. I know that the Japanese practiced a brutal form of suppression in the Philippines, I lost many relatives in that one and they positively brutalized those in the camps. This not even mentioning what they did to women. Why is this so ignored? Because their oppression was towards all instead of being more ethnically based?
The Church has already spoken on the matter. I await further instructions. Are you saying we should try to divine what will be said next and apply that to the current situation?
I see --until he speaks --you will speak for him.
Yes. I assume that hasn’t been granted to any SSPX priests, and though it may be the case somewhere it is right to make that assumption unless one has evidence to the contrary. You are right but the faculties of hearing confession are granted by the local bishop, whether the priest has been suspended or not.
