I have a question about old Palm Branches, broken statues and rosaries, and other sacramentals.
First of all, my husband and I live in an apartment, so burying them is out of the question completely. Second, I did not find any place in my parish to give away old palm branches, broken statues, unrepairable rosaries, etc.
I REALLY have this qualmy feeling about burning something that is blessed, or represents some saint or Jesus. It makes me feel kind of sacrilegious and cult-like.
I also heard that if you do burn the sacramental, then you must also bury the ash remains. Again, no can do, we don’t own land.
What should I do, after eight years these palm branches are really starting to add up! I have also collected various broken items from no-longer practicing or deceased Catholics. I just presume they are blessed.
Any suggestions? THANKS!
