it's Ramadan.

You must also remember that Islam denies Jesus’ divinity and his crucifixion. That alone should give you pause before adopting any of its practices.

Vickie
I don’t agree with everything Vickie has said, but on this one thing I certainly do.
About what she said about the Ramadan fast itself, though, I will say this: though there might be some Muslims who would do such orgies at night during the Ramadan, I doubt very much all Muslims do.

You know, we all know not everyone does everything - or whatever point is trying to be made. I am not trying to bash you either. But out of over a billion people there will always be some who do not follow everything.

But, it is widely known that Muslims are known to gorge at night.

And I am offended by the fact that even in some of our Western nations, and even in some of our own USA cities, they FORCE others to observe their fast.

Personally, I find it a ridiculous fast. It makes its own followers less constructive, and that also goes for its prayer schedules - but I won’t get into that right now.

As we see in so many, if not all, Muslim states - they are the least productive. They had no problem in Iraq to sit around, especially during Ramadan, and letting our troops do the work THEY should have been doing for their country.

And their own prophet broke Ramada when he felt like it. Just like he broke so many other silly rules he made up (see this doc that proves what I am writing).

It is ok to break Ramadan when getting ready for battle too. So, we see the real importance of Ramadan if they are ready to start killing people.
It was the month of Ramadan; Muhammad fasted and so did his followers who trailed him to Mecca. When he halted at al-Kadid, the B. Sulaym leader Uyanah b. Hisn joined him. As he proceeded, many other smaller tribes residing within the vicinity also joined with Muhammad. When they asked Muhammad about his purpose of advance, Muhammad maintained his reticence. He broke his fast at al-Kadid and told his followers that they could observe the remaining fasts or discontinue if they wished; then he proceeded ahead and put up his camp at Marr al-Zahran after eight days of marching. Another one thousand-seven hundred (1,700) members from various nearby tribes also joined him in the rush for Mecca. Up to this point, the news of Muhammad’s advance to Mecca was not known to the Quraysh. On the night Muhammad encamped at Marr al-Zahran, he ordered his Jihadists to light individual fires. So, ten thousand fires were kindled giving the impression of a massive mobilization of troops. Abu Sufyan b. Harb along with Hakim b. Hizam and Budayl b. Warqa went out to gather information about Muhammad’s intention.

Bullseye! Couldn’t have said it better! We’ve been treated to countless pictures of devout Muslims praying but here’s the other side of the coin:

203 terror attacks in 16 countries, leaving at least 735 dead.

‘A picture says a thousand words’ couldn’t be more true.

SO…raise your hand if you think Islam is a religion centered around ONE God which happens to be a God of Abraham, Isaac, & Jacob…anyone? If you raised your hand kiddies, you’d be correct! CUSTOMS aside, TRADITIONS aside, CULTURE aside, if you look at the structure of the koran, there is God, there is even Jesus, Mary, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, I mean, the affinty WE have towards Mary as a church, THEY have the same fealty towards ABRAHAM, which is where the mecca is centered! We are more alike than we are different. How off color would it be to be practicing a tradition of a faith that shares a devotion to the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob? I mean, I wouldn’t celebrate Ramadan, I mean, what would be wrong with a person fasting? It’s not a catholic thing. Is it? He’s going to fast to unite or try to create a sense of unity as human beings. Dont we have services where catholics, baptists, methodits, lutherans, presbyterians, episcopalians, etc. get together & have a service under one roof? It’s been done! So, why would this be any different, given they worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, & Jacob. Fundamentally, it is the same God we worship. I’m inclined to say God be with you on your fast! THIS is kinda neat in the sense it would bring muslims and catholics a touch closer. It’s only the radicals that give it a bad name. Remember, Timothy McVeigh is not exactly my idea of a Christian spokes person, but every village has em. SOme more than others, but they do have them.

It shows us you haven’t even cracked open any of their texts. Just because Muhammed chose to use one of his pagan gods instead of a bunch of them (if you cracked open a Koran you would know that he tried to include some of Allah’s daughters - Al-Lat, Al-Uzza and Manat - but he was advised to not do that, and it shows us that this Koran is not even close to being an infallible word of any god because of this mistake).

Fundamentally, there is nothing similar between Allah and the God of Israel.

This kumbaya moment of yours is sort of weird. And then you bring up Timothy McVeigh which shows that critical thinking just flew out the door. McVeigh and Nichols worked with a 3rd person. The book, The Third Terrorist, goes into that third (and possibly more) person. Nichols got his bomb skills from the Abu Sayyaf in the Philippines who were tied to Al Qaeda via a pact they signed with them. This pact with Al Qaeda also included such notables as Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, Hezbollah, some now dead thugs - Arafat and Saddam, the Wahabbis, and many many more. The lawsuits that flew towards Saddam in the late 1990s and early 21st Century might give you a bit of a hint that what the book ‘The Third Terrorist’ uncovered is true.

And looking at the base teachings of Jesus you can see that such ilk as McVeigh and Nichols were not following his teachings, while the radical element in Islam are indeed following the basic teachings of Islam.

Crack open some books - it might surprise you.

The pact that Al Qaeda made with all these different groups and people is in ‘The Link, The Secret Relationship between Saddam and Al Qaida’. I just got this book and it is an eye opener.

When the Muslims pray with Christians when asked to do so, or they fast on a day in Lent, or do something else with Christians, and also maybe fast with the Jews on their day of fast - then you will see a truthful kumbaya moment. Until then it is only a one way street and to think that by acquiescing to them gets you anywhere other than them thinking that they are winning in their daawa and Jihad is a false idea.
