This is our “snowfall”
Nanny:

We got the same thing–I live about an hour out of Houston. I teach fifth grade, and when the school secretary came over the loudspeaker and announced it was snowing this afternoon, I couldn’t have kept my students in the classroom if I’d tried…We all went running outside to throw snowballs–no luck there! But it was fun.

My husband and I lived up north when the kids were little. I got used to having four seasons, and now I kinda miss it. Still, I’m glad I never have to drive in that mess again!

Hey, that’s pretty good, it’s sticking!

Like I said it snowed here yesterday and there is a low spot in my driveway where water puddles that stayed icy all day - so, it is cold today :winter:

I am usually reminded by my mother of the time my oldest sister prayed really hard that it would snow. She was afraid Santa’s reindeer wouldn’t have a soft place to land. It snowed and stuck for a day and a half. My sister insists it’s true.

as a fellow Texan, and since this is only the second time i have seen snow stick to the ground, im with ya. this is awesome. i just think its a shame my daughter wont remember it since it will probably be 3-10 years until it happens again.

I was so excited when I saw it!

I just wish it would have been on Christmas Eve so we could have a white Christmas again like we did in 2004.

Its supposed to be 60 tomorrow, so we need to enjoy it while we can 🙂

Paula–did you go catch any snowflakes on your tongue? Even we adults can do that! 🙂

Ummm had 14 inches here since Dec 1st. Had snow on the ground Thanksgiving. Last year we had 108 inches total, this year more is expected.

I love snow. Like Andy said it makes everything look better.

I’m glad for you Texans, but yeesh, that’s barely a dusting. Is it even enough to make a snow angel in?

I actually went to a workout group that meets outside – we were all catching them on our tongues 🙂 We work out at a city park and it was so fun seeing everybody outside with their kids sliding down the hill – on skiboards or some made use of cardboard. Plus all the doggies that were running around and playing in it.

well we got close to 3 inches maybe a little more as of now and its pretty much stopped. i lined our patio railing with 28 snowmen from 6 to 28 inches tall. we had plenty more would be too much.

i would have just done edit but too late for that. its still snowing. that makes about 8hrs straight. its not quite freezing so a lot is melting, but its still sticking to the ground nicely.

i woke up yesterday and some said we might have snow by the end of the day. i said yea right…snow in houston after we just had temps in the 70’s the day before??? But alas i got out of my final at 9:30pm and there was snow on my car.

Nice to look at but so glad the ground was too hot to keep it around. Houstonians are bad enough drivers on a good day that i wouldn’t want any ice on the roads.

got to love Texas weather though. I believe it is suppose to get back up into the 60’s during the weekend.
