iTunes and iPods

It has been just over a week since I got my iPod and started loading my CD’s into iTunes on the iMac I got at the same time. I finally am starting to get a handle on searches in the Music store for possible music to download and see why it is so popular.

Being a fan of classical music, I usually buy the music boxed sets. So far I have found a couple dozen sets as possible purchases in the future. I will probably limit myself to one or two sets a month because they range from $19 to $79 each.

I use itunes. I just got an ipod and love it. I always hated the portable disk players because of how they always skiped. Just don’t but the volume up to loud or you could damage your ears.
 
I just completed the signup so I can buy music in the future. The only thing is, do I continue with Mozart or start on Bach

I am listening to Bach’s Mass in B minor in iTunes on my PowerBook, as I reply to this post…

I recently acquired Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis and a collection of Haydn’s Mass settings called Six Great Masses. I think Mozart will be my next target…

Though I’ve also been looking for some new, interesting or excellent trumpet music…

I take my iPod with me almost everywhere. I listen in my car, at work, in the kitchen while I wash dishes… (not with headphones, that’s not good for your ears… I have a portable speaker system at home into which I plug my iPod)…

The iPod has revolutionized the way I listen to music and other things (e.g., radio programs, podcasts, etc…). The major music project I have left is the conversion of the remainder of my analog music library to digital format…
 
Here’s a fun thing you can try. Go to the Radio section of the CA site, and find the monthly CA Live Calendar. Click on a few shows of interest, and it will let you right-click and Save As an MP3 file on your desktop. Drag them to iTunes, then sync with your iPod. Voila! You have CA Live to listen to on your iPod, for free!

One day hopefully soon, they will make it a podcast style. Then you can just subscribe once by adding to the link to iTunes, and it will automatically download new shows to iTunes!

I love this - although keeping up with 10 hours a week of shows is more difficult than before 😃
 
People pick on me for buying into the trend, but I love my ipod, and I love itunes.

If you do not fileshare, itunes is hands-down the best option for downloading music as of now. The selection of music of all genres is great, the price is reasonable, and it only keeps getting better and better.
 
I just bought my first iTune. It was the Bach Brandenburg Concertos (1-6) and Violin Concertos (1-2). It was actually cheaper than the CD in the store. I was going to but the Bach Orchestral Suites (1-4) too, but that one is cheaper at Borders.

For some reason when I go to the CA calendar and click on the show I want and then right click on the MP3 and try to save target as, or copy shortcut and then go to Itunes advanced button and copy the url, it does not work. I am not adept.
Can you make any suggestions?
