In Stambul, Turkia was today beginning of meeting of the Heads (predstojateli) and representatives of all local Orthodox churches. Meeting begins with Moleben in Cathedral Church of St. Georgij in Fanar. The meeting is to celebrate the 2,000 anniversary of the birth of St. Paul Apostl. This meeting will also call for more cooperation in witnessing of local churches. Some preparatory work done by metropoitan Kirill of Smolensk, Metropoitan of Albania and of Pergam.

St. Paul Apostl supposed to be born 8 year.

Would you please explain to me what Moleben is?

Is that an icon of St. Paul resting on the chair?
Is this the chair of a Metropolitan, or a Partriarch?

It is literally a “prayer service” based on Matins.
