I've been accused of being a sexual 'deviant' for promoting chastity

I am on another forum and made a thread relating to numbers that say more people are being chaste. Coming back a few hours later all the atheists have completely gone to town and started - seriously - calling me a sexual deviant, a repressed fanatic and sex obsessed. I am honestly quite blown away. What has this world come to? This from the same group of people that promote homosexuality and think pornography is good.

The atheist Sigmund Freud believed all sexual perversion was rooted in separating sexual pleasure from procreation. He considered contraception and masturbation mentally perverted.

Don’t worry about a bunch of atheist slaves to sin. A lot of people enslaved to sexual sin become atheists to try an rationalize their bad conscience. And to meet atheist chicks with loose morals so they can score.

Good for you for saying things that are counter-cultural and provocative. Maybe it will make some people think, who knows.

And yes, the world is sick. Here in the UK an abortion’charity’ (they call themselves that) have put on a musical that among other things promotes anal sex as a form of contraceptive.

Indeed, we see values reversal in our world today.

I saw these good commentaries, mainly on Isaiah 5:20, Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!:

Well, look at it this way - the verb “to deviate” means to depart from - and you depart from their twisted and evil ways - so yes, you’re a “deviant” to them. That’s actually something to be proud of! LOL!

Be cautious when engaging them on their own turf, though, or they’ll chew you up and spit you out. Make sure you are thoroughly prepared mentally, emotionally, and spiritually before marching in as a sheep among wolves, y’know? Read Ephesians 6 and put on that full armor of God before doing battle! :knight1: :knight2:

Notice that they accuse you of being both “repressed” and “sexually deviant.” Sound like two mutually exclusive claims? Bigots have no problem simultaneously holding two mutually exclusive bad opinions about their targets — like the opinions that Catholics are “anti-sex” and “have too many babies.”

Well, I don’t know if there was more context to this (e.g. if you had called them any names first) but it’s not a mainstream position amongst the nonreligious that not-having-sex is something that is deviant. If someone’s not interested for whatever reason, that’s fine and a matter of personal choice.
