I cannot ever see myself getting to Heaven it is unreachable.

My wife keeps being horrible and I don’t see it coming to an end.

My boss would rather recruit new people than give me a bigger contract.

I am fed up of having an illness that will never go.

I don’t even like myself, not in a humble way but just don’t even like my own company.

I know everyone would be better off without me. (I’m not contemplating suicide).

I just want it all to end but it never will.

Sorry.

Please don’t give up,and no need to be sorry for feeling this way Nelca…God bless ,in my prayers

We all have things going on in our journey through life somehow they always seem to work out or we find a way to get through. Please do not abandon all hope Neika… You are loved and cared about just look around. Yes, you have alot going on right now it’s like being at the bottom of a pool trying to come up for air, I know the feeling. Is there a chance you can a day off from everything, take a walk out in the open, a park any open space and talk one on one to Jesus. Scream, holler, rant and rave get it all out. He is there waiting I assure you. By the way that is what I did after my brother was taken suddenly and I found some peace afterward. Will be thinking of you in my prayers and at Mass today. Let us know how you are. God Bless you.🦋🦋🦋

I know this feeling. death or oblivion seem preferable to living in agony and despair as every day you have to fight to wake up. it hurts. it physically hurts. you feel abandoned by god and you hate the person you are as try to keep moving and it seems as thought the fear of hell is the only thing that stays your hand. I’m not going to offer you some platitude. they don’t help. I will tell you this though right now when you are at your lowest is the point when you really need to push forward. don;t think about how much things are going wrong. just focus on God and what needs to get done. you still have two arms and two legs, and while things are bad what would taking your life truly accomplish except forever take away all chance of happiness and relief. your chance of reaching heaven is the same as mine or anyone else. if you are truly as bad as you say. good, it just means you have more right to gods mercy and love. everyone here loves you. so pick your self up say the divine mercy and rosary each day, get help if you need it for anything and go forward my brother in Christ. I love you and everyone else here does to. even if they don’t say it. And if you take nothing else from this, then allow me to share with you just one truth. Jesus will never forsake you, he is with you now and no matter what you do he will love always. Go forward and believe.

My friend im no psychologist but you seem to be depressed. Try to take a break from your usual routine like jog or some sort of exercise. Pray my friend. I’ll pray for you too

Nelka do you have professional help for your feelings of hopelessness?

God lets us suffer only for our own benefit. Offer your suffering up to the Lord in prayer. That’s what I do whenever I start suffering. In fact, I find that the more I suffer, the greater my offering. 👍

It’s going to be alright. At some point in the future, there’s going to be at least a temporary break in the storm. Use that time to reflect & pray for the best way to move forward. Find counsel and be frank with your thoughts & feelings. God loves you so much, even if the idea feels unbelievable to you right now.

HI Nelka, this just means we need to pray harder for you to feel better.
Do you have a counselor or mental health professional you can talk to about all this?
Meanwhile just think of how Jesus understands your suffering and how many souls you are redeeming from Purgatory through offering this up…it’s a small comfort I know but suffering does not go to waste if you offer it.

God bless

I’ll say another Rosary for you.

Been struggling with despondence and feelings of hopelessness too…

But the one consolation is the thought that what we experience isn’t what we will finally “turn out” like at the end.

We have to suffer now, but Jesus said He is the resurrection and the life and all things will be recreated.

There’s a giant black box in between our current state and what our eternal future holds…and it’s aggravating and frustrating to not know what/why/when/how God does things in our lives.

Perhaps in the meantime He wants us to muster up what little strength we have to depend on Him and cast all our hopes in Him even out of desperation for having nowhere else to turn — I think at least for His own sake of keeping His own promise, He will not let our hopes go unanswered.

(Someone recommended a novena prayer to St. Jude or Our Lady of Hope.)

Jesus Christ said that in order to follow him, we have to take up our respective crosses. When you suffer, God is conforming you to the image of Christ. He’s making you more Christlike. Next time someone swears at you, stop and thank God. Thank Him for helping you understand what Christ did for you; he bore insults and people even spat upon him.

You need to surrender to Christ to the point where you enjoy his discipline. Regardless of how much/little you are suffering, God is using this suffering to purify your ego from sin, arrogance, pride and self-reliance.

I’m praying for you. May God rectify your situation and may He also conform you into the image of His Son.

Hi Nelka,
I don’t know if this will help you, but it helped me, so I thought I’d share it.

We are taught from an early age that if we do something wrong, something bad will happen to us. The corollary would be that if bad things happen to us, we have been bad, right?

Well, actually that is not the case. There is a lot of bad stuff wandering around looking for a person to happen to.

What is important is how we handle it.

Even your mean wife can be a means of sanctity for you. Make an appointment with a good priest to discuss the situation with your wife and figure out some strategies for you to be able to cope better.

And maybe read biographies or autobiographies of some saints? So much of what we have to read nowadays is like a Disney movie where someone discovers their dream and fights for it, but that is not real life for most people! For most of us life is learning to do something with the hand we have been dealt.

The feelings you feel and your own thoughts are temptations. Do not let anger fill your heart with sorrow. Thank God everyday for all your troubles. Dedicate it all to Him. Ask Him what He wants with you as often as you can. Pray for your wife. Pray for your boss. See only the good things in them. Short prayers can work too.
“Lord, have mercy on me a sinner!” - in your mind whenever your mood is going down, repeatedly.
And “Lord have mercy on [name of boss, wife, anyone who has angered you].”
I used to feel like that too and He helps. He really does.

Talk to your doctor if the feelings are persistent. It sounds like depression to me.

Praying for you. I am glad you were able to share how you feel, so we can ask God to help .

Praying for you, Nelka, that the Holy Spirit may assist and guide you always toward faith, hope, and love.
