My names Lauralouise,
if god exists then why is he punishing my family and me like this!!! weve never done anything bad in our lives!!!
My faith is gone and i just dont know what to do any more, i cant cope with being the strong one any more, im only 23!, i cant take it!!

I suggest reading Why Bad Things Happen to Good People. You are not alone - if that is any consolation.

Lauralouise you have come to the right place. I can name quite a few posters on these threads who have felt the same way including myself. My youngest son has caused us a great deal of grief in the last few months and I have cried out to God, “I never did any of this stuff to my mother and father, what did I do to deserve this?”

We don’t have answers to your question. What we do have is a group of folks who have been in similar positions. We support each other, listen to each other’s stories, and perhaps most importantly pray for each other. If you will watch this thread, I will guarantee that you will meet other people like you.

You do have a terrible burden at 23. Know that I will keep you in my prayers.

Amen brother!

Lauralouise, I hope that you will continue to talk with us here. I will keep you and your family in my prayers!

You came here. That shows you do still have a shred of faith. Keep up hope.
And it is possible that God is not punishing you, and may be protecting you through worse fates.
It is hard to understand, hard to swallow, but He loves you and will get you to the other side.
Keep coming back sister. I will pray for you and your family.

The fact that you came to this board and started a thread says alot.We have all been there. IMHO anyone that says they have not is not telling the truth. I am so sorry that you are at this point so young. Keep praying even if you don’t feel like it. Keep talking even if you don’t want to talk.
It helps us all to talk some times. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

We cannot know why God allows anything to happen to us in particular, but we can know that as long as we live in this imperfect and sinful world bad things can happen to anyone, good or bad. God is not punishing you or anyone else when bad things happen to us. And he never promised us that things wouldn’t happen in our lives hard for us to understand, but he did promise to be with us through it and to help us cope with it. As you go through whatever hard times you are experiencing the question you should be asking is not, “God why?” but “God what?” “What can I do in this situation to make it better, understand it, cope with it, bring my loved ones through it, reach out for others to help me with?”, etc., etc.

As time goes by and you do the things you can do while trusting in God to keep you in his hands through it all, you will come out with a stronger and more mature faith in God who loves you too much to shelter you from every bad thing in the world because if he did that you would never grow in faith but remain a baby Christian unable to deal with life’s heartaches and disappointments. I will keep you and yours in my prayers.

if you choose to join this community by posting regularly, and reading the thoughts of people who come by here… you might find answers gradually unfold rather than suddenly appearing the way we want them too. But if you give it time, participate here and get to know some of the forum members… you’ll find what you are looking for.
not always in our time, but i promise you will.

Hi:

i was right there where you are, suffering a lot then i join the Knights at the Foot of the Cross of saint maximilian kolbe so that my suffering can meant something, then the incredible happen: ALL my problems resolve alone (i am tend to belive that the devil had something to do with all my suferings, because why stop suffering when i accept it) here is the explanation and the link th the knights:

Knights at the Foot of the Cross

http://www.consecration.com/image184.gifThe Knights at the Foot of the Cross (KFC) is an outreach within the MI movement, comprised of Catholics afflicted by the cross of suffering - physical, spiritual or emotional.

As MI members, KFCs consecrate themselves to Mary. As did Mary at the Cross of her Son, they also participate in “redemptive suffering” (also called sacrificial or reparational suffering). This means they offer some of their daily prayers and trials to Jesus and Mary, who apply these gifts where grace is needed most, such as to convert hearts and save souls, to make amends for the sins of others, and ultimately to bring about the reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. KFCs especially offer up their difficulties for the success of the MI. They thus become a special core group or vanguard within the movement. Though often unable to actively evangelize because of infirmity, nonetheless KFCs generate untold graces as they link their sufferings with those of Christ. Through the intercession of Mary, they offer up all to the Father as a “sacrifice of praise.”

Supernaturally, KFCs are perhaps the most important members of the MI - a spiritual powerhouse.

Muchas gracias, Miguel. I went looking for it and couldn’t find it.

I am praying for you…I’ve also suffered the complete destruction of my faith, and I was only 15. It was the most painful thing I’ve ever had to endure, and the whole time I was screaming to God, “Why? I’ve done nothing but serve you my whole life and now you’ve completely abandoned me!”
but there is one thing I’ve learned…God never abandons us…in times of the most suffering and the most anguish, God is usually the only one we can count on. God never, never does anything without a reason, and often He has to let us fall, fall to our earthly selves, even die to our earthly selves, before He can bring us up again to be stronger and more faithful, happier and more complete. Even many of the Saints had to suffer through dark periods in their faith in order to know God better, it’s just how He helps us grow.
God has a purpose for your suffering…now is more a reason than ever to cling to Him…trust Him, trust that He knows everything and knows what He is doing in your life. He will never abandon you, He is closest to you when you are in pain…know that, and hold onto that. And fight. The worst thing we could do is give-up when we feel we’ve been beaten…fight with everything you have for your God, and one day, when it is time, you will have victory over your pain. It’s the greatest, most amazing feeling you could ever know, when you finally return to the God who loves you. But it takes time, it takes pain, and it takes fighting…but remember you are not fighting alone…God is fighting with you…every saint and angel is fighting with you…and all of us, your brothers and sisters in Christ, are fighting with you. I will say a rosary for you tonight…don’t lose faith, cling to it, and you will find rest.

One of my favorite songs, by Relient K: “And You said 'I know that this will hurt, but if I don’t break your heart, things will just get worse. And when the burden seems too much to bear, remember, the end will justify the pain it took to get us there.”

And one of my favorite church songs, “Be not afraid, I go before you always. Come, follow Me, and I will give you rest.”

He’s right there, holding onto you with all He has…don’t let go.

You’re in my prayers,
God bless you,
In Him,
Britty

Might be better to PM LauraLouise- she hasn’t posted again so who knows if she’s come back???

I hope she hasn’t given up hope!

We don’t want you to go away, LL!

LauraLouise,
Sometimes it seems the end of the world when things go bad and we lose our faith. You’re not alone. That’s life. Turn to Our Loving Father and say, “I trust you, I love you”. He is molding you like a pot of clay. Yes, it hurts, but when He is done you will be “beautiful in His site” and worthy of Heaven.

God bless you, and will say a prayer for you right now.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art though among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of death. Amen :gopray2:

It’s only been one day since LauraLouise posted, but when she does come back, she’ll know she is in the Right place.

LaureLouise,
Take our word for it, we’ve ALL been there!
God wants YOU to trust Him. He may be using this point in your life TO seek Him. Don’t ask ‘Why’? Ask 'Show me what you want me to do."

I left the Church for 12 years. Yet, I knew my sins and life was NOT going the way Our Lord wanted it to be.

You say you are having a lot of pressure on you…well, Christ didn’t start his ministry till he was 30, and He had to DIE for us, and you! Now in comparison to that, you can be assured that all you need to do is ASK our Lord for Faith, Courage, and Strength to get you through these times…and others will notice your new ‘strength’.

I will be praying for you as well.

Laura Lousie, First a huge cyber hug for you((((( )))))). I thought this too several years ago, my youngest child was born disabled, I had to have a life saving Hysterectomy following his birth, I was in the darkest place of my life then. I had several miscarriages before this. Why me? I was a Good person, attend Mass regularly, treated my fellowman with kindness, I never practiced Birth Control, I was a virgin when married, yet this happened. Other women had several partners, practiced BC, never attend Mass later married wealthy, successful men, lived in fine homes and had as many or as few “perfect” little children they wanted. I thought life is not fair, God has forgotten me, Then when a friend who happens to be a Priest, when I cried “Why me??” “Why my Baby?” He said “Why not you?”, at first I was mad at him, then he explained, “God, has choosen you to be his Mother, because you have the Faith and the Strenght to do this” It took a while but as my Faith deepen more and more I am truly happy, fullfilled Mother and wife. My son is now 17 and he is my special sunshine. Kay

Hi Laura Louise,

Welcome.
You may feel like you have lost your faith, but God will always be holding you in His merciful hands. (Even though it may feel at times like you are uttterly alone.)
For right now, lean on His unworthy servants (all members of the Church) who will listen and pray for you.
