Prayer for Generosity (St. Ignatius of Loyola)

Lord, teach me to be generous.
Teach me to serve you as you deserve;
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labor and not to ask for reward,
save that of knowing that I do your will.

:signofcross:

I’m drifting with no land in sight. Even if I reach land, it’s not so pleasant there either. Follow Jesus. Follow Mary. They will never lead you astray.

**Blessed Mother, please intercede for us.
Hold the sorrowful, strengthen the fearful,
mother and love the weary, abused, neglected
or forgotten among us,
give your aid to all needing help or healing,
assist those who are sick, in pain or suffering,
be with those needing peace,
console the lonely or brokenhearted,
comfort the lost or hopeless,
guard the unborn,
pray for those who are dying or who have died,
soften those with hardened hearts,
enlighten those who do not yet see truth,
help us be brave enough to let our hurt and anger go,
show us the way to do the right thing,
protect those who are in danger,
and guide us from every evil.
May all who keep your sacred commemoration
experience the might of your assistance.
Amen :gopray2: **

PATER NOSTER,
qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
sed libera nos a malo. Amen.

Praying…

Padre nuestro, que estás en el cielo. Santificado sea tu nombre. Venga tu reino. Hágase tu voluntad en la tierra como en el cielo. Danos hoy nuestro pan de cada día. Perdona nuestras ofensas, como también nosotros perdonamos a los que nos ofenden. No nos dejes caer en tentación y líbranos del mal. Amen.

Lord, I pray for this soul to know YOU, not others but seek Truth and therefore meet You standing ready and waiting. Guide by Your Holy Spirit Your child to rediscover the beauty and love of Your church despite the sins of some of its members, Amen.

God reward you for your kindness. I am a woman, not a man. 🙂

But I’d like to know what catholic with a heart could pass up a thread that says “I’ve Lost My Faith” in favor of others? There is nothing worse than the loss of a soul.
Be assured that many pray for you, without posting it.

I understand that you want many replies. But trust those who remain silent (and pray in silence which as you know is a very good thing also)

In my case, I don’t know how to write my prayers down, i always feel it is not as powerful. I tend to concentrate on my prayers.

:blessyou:

Jesus, Your faith was in the Heavenly Father, Your steadfastness being my living model! Kindly grant me the richness of such faith, To embrace Your Father as my true Provider, Having staunch belief in His eminent powers And to remain loyal to Him until my last day. If my faith shifts as temporary waves, Rush to my rescue without any hesitation, Protecting others from my fleeting frailty. May Your Presence always be lively enjoyed, Enabling me to shine as a flame of faith. My faith loyally reaches out to You!
Amen.

Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee! Blessed art Thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

What he said!

And many of us are committed to praying daily for those struggling with the faith. So you are receiving prayers even from some who are never on these forums at all. Be courageous, dear one! You are not alone, but dearly loved by many of your brothers and sisters in Christ. :hug3:

Mother Teresa herself felt the absence of God. That’s the moment when your trust shouldn’t fail.

No you have not lost your Faith, you have put it somewhere that you cannot find it for the moment.

As a Convert I got the Faith which is a Gift, and you have the Gift, but Converts generally have a fight on there hands to become a Catholic its easier when one is born a Catholic, of course that does not mean you don’t have your own troubles, but one is stronger in the Faith when you get it by fire, like my parents did not talk to me for 10 years, and got thrown out of the house at 17, so I had to find work and shelter so to speak.

I do not think you have lost your faith, maybe your questioning your faith which is different than lost. I will certainly keep you in my prayers.

THE ONE YOU SEEK, SEEKS YOU. Lord give me an insatiable thirst for you and then
quench that thirst.
I have to admit that was well stated

I was just going to ask if you had looked in the sofa? You know I seem to always find things that I have lost in the sofa.

I hope that was funny – Ouch!! St. Anthony just slapped me on the head.

Please excuse me, “I lost it.”

Focus on the Treasure, not the shortcomings of the guardians.

The guardians of the Treasure and the Treasure itself are two different things, but the media likes to equate them, and even we, sometimes, can’t see past the guardians due to their actions (or lack thereof).

As you know, what can be said on CAF is limited, so I cannot go into detail as to how and why I have lost my faith. It would be more correct to say that I have lost my faith in the hierarchy which, in turn, makes me question whether the Church has ever been what it claims to be.

At this point in time, I need a miracle of grace.

Please pray for me. Often threads in this section like my own get buried or ignored. I hope that doesn’t happen. I do need prayers. Please.
No Lomar, you haven’t lost your faith. Be at peace! But like a lot of people, you’ve lost faith in creatures. I’m with you. The Church is and always will be what she claims to be. The teachings are truth. Don’t lose sight of that. It’s just that there are those on the inside that appear to be trying their darndest to subvert it. Please stay in there and keep up the good fight. We need you! Praying for you Lomar! Always feel free to PM me. God Bless You!

Peace, Mark

I am praying so hard for you. After I post this reply, I will log out so that I may pray in earnest for you. You will be in my prayers all day and the rosary I pray this evening I will offer for you.

I have recently had a conversation on with someone who is against my conversion, in which they pointed out the grievous history of the church (the inquisition, etc.), saying that it can not be God’s church because the people who run it are evil. The problem with the Catholic church is the same as with the Protestant churches; the are operated and directed (on earth) by people, their pews are occupied by people, and worship is guided by people. People, which is to say “mankind” are sinners and are not worthy (no, not one). We, as sinners, being the body of Christ, will continue to occupy those pews, operate and direct our churches, and guide worship services in HIS name, for HIS glory.

I am sure that you know these things and I know that I haven’t said anything that is new to you. I pray that you will have peace in your heart as you and I and all other people ARE the body of Christ.

Prayer said. I am converting to Catholicism from Mormonism (first), then Protestantism. Not sure if this will be helpful or relevant, but all of these groups justify separation from Rome on the grounds that Rome became “corrupt.” Something that helped me convert to Catholicism, was realizing that apostasies happened all the time in the Old Testament…and yet when Jesus arrived on the scene, the Jewish Priesthood was still valid according to Him, and Jesus was a practicing Jew. So people stray, but God’s hierarchies remain valid. Consider also Paul’s writings about the Church being the Body of Christ, headed by Christ, and not a human organization (Ephesians). Man will sin. But the sacraments are pure.

God bless you!

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

I had a time in my life when I was completely estranged from the church. And all I could do was pray to the Blessed Mother. I asked her, “I don’t know how to pray anymore. Please pray for me.” I’m sure she did.

I will certainly keep you in my prayers. God Bless & keep you. May He cause the warmth of His infinite love to flood your heart, may you feel His Hand upon your shoulder & may you receive Peace, Grace, Hope, Joy & Faith in abundance!!

Hymn of St. Dominic

Thou who, hero-like, hast striven
For the cause of God and heaven!
Dominic, whose life was given
Sinners to recall.
Saint of high and dauntless spirit,
By thy vast unmeasured merit,
By thy name which we inherit,
Hear us when we call.

Flower of chastity, the fairest
Of her lily buds thou bearest,
Snow-white as the robe thou wearest,
Gift from hands divine.
With thy brow of starry splendour,
With thine eyes so mild and tender,
Mary’s client–truth’s defender,
To our prayers incline.

Great Apostle, ever claiming
Souls for Jesus–by the naming
Mary and her Son proclaiming
Mysteries of faith;
Still, O Dominic, the preaching
Of those childlike beads is reaching
Childlike hearts all sweetly teaching
Christ’s own life and death.

With those Aves, first and plainest
Of the Church’s prayers, thou rainest
Blessings on the earth and gainest
Souls whom Jesus made.
Loving Father I at thy station
Of seraphic contemplation,
In each hour of dark temptation,
Give thy saving aid.

Prayer to St. Dominic

O glorious Saint Dominic, thou who wast a model of mortification and purity, by punishing thy innocent body with scourges, with fastings and with watchings, and by keeping inviolate the lily of thy virginity, obtain for us the grace to practice penance with a generous heart and to keep unspotted the purity of our bodies and our hearts.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.

O great Saint, who, inflamed with divine love, didst find thy delight in prayer and intimate union with God; obtain for us to be faithful in our daily prayers, to love our Lord ardently, and to observe His commandments with ever increasing fidelity.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.

O glorious Saint Dominic, who, being filled with zeal for the salvation of souls, didst preach the Gospel in season and out of season and didst establish the Order of Friars Preachers to labor for the conversion of heretics and poor sinners, pray thou to God for us, that He may grant us to love all our brethren sincerely and to cooperate always, by our prayers and good works, in their sanctification and eternal salvation.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.

V. Pray for us, Saint Dominic,
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray:

Grant, we beseech Thee, Almighty God, that we who are weighed down by the burden of our sins may be raised up by the patronage of blessed Dominic Thy Confessor. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

(Indulgence of 300 days once a day)
