I don’t take it literally, I’m Catholic not Baptist. BIBLE stands for basic information before leaving earth, not ALL information before leaving earth.
I’ve never heard this before. *Is this *what Catholics believe?

I would guess that the person wasn’t saying that we don’t believe in the Bible, but that there is more information than what is in the Bible, for example, what has been passed down through Tradition.

And you can believe in the Bible without literally believing that God created the Earth in seven 24-hour days. That’s probably what he means when he says you don’t have to take it “literally”. I absolutely believe in the Bible as God’s word. I also absolutely believe that many people who say that they are “literally” inteperting what they read in the Bible, are incorrect about many of their views.

I think whoever came up with that acronym–or more proberly backronym–was just trying to be cute. I’ve heard pop-evangelicals use it.

I THINK it was coined by Frank Buchman of the Oxford Group (whence came Alcoholics Anonymous and similar groups).

I believe that there is some man caused corruption in the bible, otherwise you wouldn’t have two creation stories.

Catholics believe that the Bible or the Christian Scriptures are a part of Divine Revelation, NOT the sum total of Divine Revelation.

It makes light of the SACRED scriptures, people using it are trying to sound cool but they just end up sounding lukewarm and indifferent.

B-I-B-L-E

A Bible is a Manual without instructions.
A Bible is a Code without laws.
A Bbile is a Journal with conversations.

then what is it?

**A Journal **is written by men, conversations are the scripts.
The scripts are from God.
Pray, and she will hear.

Supplementary Notes:
(1) Names & Places may be added.
(2) Numbers are time.
(3) Old & New, both from God.

I hope it may help.

Only a problem if you think the Bible has to be word-for-word literal in order to be true.

Two creation stories, each illustrating the Truth that 1) God Created everything, including Human Beings and 2) God Created Human Beings in His image, sharing something with Him that is different from the rest the earth and 3) God Created Human Beings to be in Community with one another and with Him.

No conflict.

Did God create the male human creature first and then all the other creatures and then the female human, or did God create all the animals first and work up to human beings (or maybe even allow human beings to evolve into creatures with whom He could share His divinity?!) I think the fact that the Sacred text includes both stories, side by side and without comment, tells us that THIS IS NOT THE POINT.

  1. Creations by Birth. The power of God come from Birth.
  2. God has her images on us. (Buddhism is a mental state, but the monks know one of the hints.) Prestige are only given by mankind.
  3. Community is a group. Society created by men.
Bible is always true.

Evolutions of species by the power of Birth. God created, they evolved by themselves.

Supplementary Notes:
(a) Pillars are the backbones of our world.
(b) Religions are sperated by the God. God is not pural, she is always one.
(c) Evolution came from Enlightenment. It is not by man.

The Bible consists of 73 love letters reflecting the covenantal love between humans and our Creator. Just as you would read a newspaper in the proper context so is how you should read the Bible. In a newspaper we have real news (things that actually took place), editorials (opinions based on real situations), classified ads (alerts to things that you can do), comics (humerous fiction many times relating to reality) and many other genres.

As Catholics we know that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. Great care must be taken when interpreting the Scriptures (exegesis) in order that the proper message is revealed in its proper context. The art and science of Biblical interpretation (hermeneutics) must be utilized and thankfully we have the Church to guide us. God left us a Church that is inspired by the same Holy Spirit that wrote and acknowledged the inspired texts. To divorce Scripture from its source (Church) is not only irrational but is deceptive. This would be like stripping the U.S. Constitution away from the Supreme Court and allowing each citizen their right to private interpretation.

In closing, the Catholic Church wrote the Bible, acknowledged which writings would be included in Scripture and now continues to guide in its interpretation. Anyone who takes a Bible and decides to make it their own posession apart from the community to whom it is written is on a road to disaster… teachccd

It should not be seventy-three.

Constitution is not properly written if it was marked in Journals.
Church should never write Bible, every single word is important.
Meaning will be distorted if you change the wordings.
They are not written in English.

A road to disaster is driven by men, not the God.
The Door will be opened. Maybe too late.

Supplementary Notes:
(1) Languages are divided by geography.
(2) One who decided the past has the future, one who is living decides the past.
(3) Confessions are made, psychologists know.
