That’s actually one of my life goals. I don’t draw but I like writing scripts and story lines (some people say I’m pretty good too :o ). I still may need a fellow Catholic to help me specifically with his anti-Catholic ones though. As my signature states, I still wanna learn more and hopefully I’ll be able to do so when I take up another Theology subject next semester. Right now though, I’m only planning on making stuff that deals with his idiotic ideas on popular media (e.g. rock music, video games). 😊

OOOOH!! What’s the anti-Orthodox tract? I want to see how we (the Catholics) created them to promote Satan.

I was at the Post Office a few months ago and there was a tract on one of the tables. I hesitated but, I ultimately grabbed it and threw it away. To this day I am wondering if I did the right thing because it could have eventually led somebody to Christ in a way at a later date.
I make it a strict habit to file any and all of them I see or find in the “circular file”… I had a guy hand me one… I ripped it up and then threw it away. He asked “why”? I said “YOU KNOW WHY!” He turned red and walked away. Chick tracts are nothing but obscene garbage. They will not lead anyone to Christ. I think they do more damage to the unknowing than a brick dropped from ten stories up.

If you want to read some more scary stuff about people with that kind of “mentality”   Go here: channel4.com/culture/microsites/C/can_you_believe_it/debates/allen.html The top article is interesting…but the links at the bottom of the page leading to other articles are something else…

The more I read about people like that, the more I become torn betwen choosing which is the world better leff without: atheistic relativistic liberalism or loony anti-catholic fundamentalism.

Even now I wish I could just lock up both extremes in a room and hope they devour each other.

I can handle the atheists…they are far easier to “ignore” and are essentially just full of it…

On this point I have to agree!!! :tiphat: :clapping: 😃 And I have to give you a heartfelt “THANK YOU!!” for a good chuckle… I laughed when I read your post and my wife asked me what was so funny… I read the post and she got a good chuckle out of it too!!👍

Aaahh… could this be the infamous Cthulu tract I’ve heard so much about? Entertaining. Though the short story I’ve been writing is a little less anti-religious and atheistic in taste. 😉

I know some other nice parodies that I wanna show everybody but my shift’s ending soon so maybe after eight hours of sleep. G’night everyone. :o

Hmm… doesn’t seem very different than the first one but I can see the point. XD

Well as promised here’s an interesting parody of a Chick Tract that supported Young Earth Creationism (oy… )

I just still can’t believe that some people still believe in such nonsense. I’m currently debating with one such ardent Creationist and he sounds like all he does is read this Kent Hovind garbage all day.

Honestly, when are people on both sides ever going to realize that the Evolution VS Creation debate, on a scientific level, doesn’t even exist? It’s always been a question of philosophy not science.

I am very concerned that once again a forum on Catholic Answers has degenerated into an attack on anyone who questions the theory of evolution.

There are many intelligent people who are asking legitimate questions about the theory of evolution and they are sick and tired of being dismissed as low brained cranks.

I once attempted to present some of the arguments against the theory of evolution and the personal viciousness of the attacks that were directed against me made me simply quit the forum.

Jack Chick is certainly not the only bigot around here.

That depends if your arguments are far more solid and rational sounding than Jack’s. Personally I’m pretty open minded to questioning evolution but in the case of Jack Chick (and his acolytes), I just find his reasoning to be completely… wrong. Just. Plain. Wrong.

For those of you not familiar–he claims that we Catholics worship a ‘cookie,’ and pope
I certainly do like cookies. But not enough to worship them. 😛
He believes the claims of a con artist, Alberto Rivera, because 1. He prayed about it, 2. Rivera spent many hours working on him,
3. Rivera didn’t retract his statements even on his deathbed, 4. Rivera’s widow maintains Rivera was telling the truth, 5. Rivera produced a forged document and some snapshots that appeared to back up his tall tales, 6. Chick is pretty sure his observation of Rivera’s behavior showed the latter to be a “godly man”, and 7. RIvera directed Chick to books by other con artists, mentally ill people, ignorant people and shoddy scholars form days with lower standards of evidence, that seemed to bolster his claims. As a result of buying these stories, Chick became even more gullible and evetually also bought the stories of Rebecca Brown and Elaine Knost, John Todd, Bill Schnoebelein, Dave Hunt and other sketchy authors and speakers. He refused to admit his mistake, though he did drop all association with the work of Brown and Knost, after their books accusing most people of satanic activity caused an uproar.

Sounds like he needs a “Source Cited” page. But he doesn’t seem to be the kind who would go for that kind of thing. So many Protestants accuse us on false premises it’s not even funny.

By the way, I like your signature. I’m teaching myself Gaelic, but it’s only been but a week. So I don’t really know what it says.

…Chick became even more gullible and evetually also bought the stories of Rebecca Brown and Elaine Knost, John Todd, Bill Schnoebelein, Dave Hunt and other sketchy authors and speakers…
So true… and don’t even get me started on Schnoebelen. I have half a mind to drag that lunatic into the biggest convention for fantasy gamers and watch him go ballistic.

:rotfl: I’d watch that vid!
Schnoebelein makes me laugh so hard. He accuses all these groups he was in of being power hungry and dishonest. Well, I was a witch too and I know some of them are, and I pray for my friends who are still into it to get out and find the truth. But rumor has it he actually wrested his way into a quick initiation, manipulated people until he was “high priest” of a coven long enough to celebrate with a party, then quit just like that and joined the Freemasons, again pushing his way into the earliest possible initiation, then harassing them into promoting him much faster than the rules even allow, then quitting when he got the credential he was after and doing the same thing to the LDS church, then getting out of there and getting the fastest naturopathic doctor degree he could. Now he adds to this that the was also a vampire, based on a few blood-consumption rituals. Well, eww, but, Bill, that isn’t what a vampire is. He just wants to go through the ranks of every group in the world and then denounce them all, I guess. If I were a recruiter for anyone I would turn him down. I would assume he was still doing the same thing.

I did not know that after he talked Adam and Eve out of the Garden, he’s been pushing for great quotes on Auto Insurance.

So true. Honestly, that’s my number one beef with the dude. I’m surprised Chick and co. are still focused on DnD when World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy are the big names right now in the fantasy gaming genre. Geez I feel so compelled to lock everyone of those loons and give them a long lecture on Gamer Culture. I mean seriously, do I have to make a goth and a video game nerd sit next to each other to prove that their anti-gaming myths are ludicrous?

Oh I agree. The two colleges I went to here both had tons of people who had crazy ideas about Catholicism. Classmates have told me I’m brainwashed by the Pope and accused Catholics of believing the Bible has literal meaning only. Others take pride in their non-Catholic status…not just pride, but to the point of holding it over me. Why revel in our separation? It makes no sense.
And other protestants accuse Catholics of not taking the Bible literally enough! I guess protestants just can’t make up their minds, so have to jump around all over the map.

 This guy is a true nut job. A friend of mine quite some time ago, sent me some cartoons done by this lunatic. I was so horrified I could not believe my eyes. I saw the same one that someone here mentioned about the the cookie god and all kinds of ridicule about the church traditions, ridiculing the Pope and the clergy as well. He presented the church, the One True Holy Apostolic Church of Jesus, as something so absolutely false and heretical, blaspheming the Pope and the church itself, and I couldn’t contain my anger at this person. I really need someone to pray for me so I can pray for him.

I’d hate to think how he will explain himself before the Throne on Judgment Day. Or me for that matter for detesting this man, if in fact, that’s what he is.

I only see a hate filled, sick minded, vicious person that has no business at all in any church, no less a Christian one. He’s a liar and a fake, leading many to destruction. He’s the devil’s worker… He’d better get down on his knees and repent of his sickness before it’s too late.
:tsktsk:

Me too!!! I never said I was a saint. Only that I love Jesus and I try.

Anyone wanting to see those very sick cartoons just key in his name on the web and loads of stuff will pop up for you to see what a vicious individual we’re up against.

My Lord and My Savior, have mercy on me, a sinner
:signofcross:

There’s a movie out about him, “God’s Cartoonist”, and the trrailer can be viewed at Monsterwax. The trailer shows some strange people talking – I suppose they’re people he publishes or has published. I think one is Rebecca Brown. A shocking number of churches still promote her stories.
