Jack Chick has died

I can’t find a proper news source for this. But according to Twitter, notorious anti-Catholic Jack Chick passed away yesterday.
 
Sad that the only legacy he left behind is one of hate and bigotry.
Lord have mercy on his soul.
 
May God have mercy on his soul for his many un-Christian tracts.
 
Just read his bio, he wasn’t who I thought he was! Please disregard my earlier post…bad form on my part.

I just learned that Jack Chick has died. Hope to see him in Heaven; I would not be the Catholic I am today without him.
 
Didn’t know him and not sure what to say, but all the same, may his soul rest in peace.
 
Man, I remember the first time I ever heard of Jack Chick. When I was 8 or 9 years old, some Baptists from a church walked into my grandma’s room at the nursing home when we were leaving. They grilled us all on our faith, and me and my parents were the only Catholics in the room. They passed out Chick tracts. When we got in the van and left, my mother told me everything about Jack Chick so that my young mind wouldn’t be warped. “Jack Chick is a nut,” she said. “He thinks Catholics are Satanists.” (Which lines up with my grandparents’ beliefs…)

Even at that young age, when I read his tracts, I could tell how…strange…he was. When we got home, I looked up more on the web, and read such gems as the one where Catholics did the Holocaust. My mouth was on the floor. When I told my mother, she warned me to stop reading Chick tracts. He was just too crazy. I did, for my sanity.

So yeah…R.I.P. Hope God has mercy on him.

I don’t think Mr. Chick had personal hatred toward Catholics, although he had no use for Catholicism (or mormonism, freemasonry, islam, drinking, homosexuality, ouija boards, satanism, drugs or rock and roll for that matter).

Chick’s viewpoint about the Catholic Church was that it was centrally run by conspirators in the Vatican and Jesuit hierarchy who ran the show like puppet masters. His real hatred was against the trolls and demons he imagined in the basement of the Vatican that he thought were controlling the Catholic Church. He didn’t have a realistic view of what they do in Rome or how the Catholic Church is organized.

If he did, he still probably wouldn’t have approved it, but he wouldn’t have adopted such a dark conspiratorial tone about it and looked so nutty.
 
This is the first I ever heard of him and his history with Catholic Answers. I read it on Wikipedia. Wow, will he ever be in for a surprise (crossing to the next life)! 😃

May he rest in peace and now finally know the truth of the Catholic Church.
