Though I detest what Chick and co. do, spreading ignorant paranoia, I respect anyone who is willing to say what he or she thinks, especially if it would be unpopular or look silly. What I want to see is a matching or bigger effort to communicate by everyone who isn’t paranoid.

I hope this isn’t too off topic…all this talk about JTC tracts made me go dig out my very old (from the 1970s) larger-size Chick comics.
A few of them were personally autographed by Alberto for me (I’d sent them to JTC and asked if he could get Alberto to sign them, and he did!)
Do you think they’re worth anything, say on Ebay?

What is “extreme” is the hate-mongering vitriolic deceptive lies and slander that Chick foists on the gullible uneducated unawares and otherwise foolish people that buy into his nonsense.I’m sorry, but comparing a guy who just draws silly little comics to a genicidal maniac like Hitler is a bit extreme.
You apparently missed my point… Chick is the Joseph Goebbels of the so called “religious right”, which incidentally isn’t, but I won’t digress further. You are also apparently lacking knowledge that there are those amongst non-Catholics that actually do embrace the concept of genocide where all Catholics are concerned. The so-called Reverend Ian Paisley of Northern Ireland for one…and the so-called Reverend Bob Jones, who founded Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC has openly praised Ian Paisley’s positions almost to the level of fawning adoration bordering on “worship”.
They are not alone in this issue…thus, given the tone and blatant intent of Chick’s tracts…and the fact that he “feeds” a hate-mongering and bigoted mentality…just as Joseph Goebbels did during the 1930’s>1940"s…makes it rather easy to place him in the same category as Hitler and all the rest. Its not even a stretch.
That you may think that they are just “silly little comics”…that causes me to think you are an “easy mark” for his trash, or missing the entire concept and motives behind his trash.

I often wonder about the childhood influences on paranoid and hatemongering attitudes. After all, they come up more in certain environments. Stress can bring it on, but maybe it takes something more. Maybe Alice Miller knew what she was talking about when she tried to trace all human madness and badness to specific abuse. Or maybe I was right in the first place and it can be triggered in anyone.

Hashem…I contend that the only valid Hitler comparisons are Mao Tse Tung, Josef Stalin, Pol Pot, etc. But if you disagree and think that Jack Chick and Adolph Hitler are in the same category…I withdraw my objection.

That’s because most of it is refuted on the CA site to begin with. And everywhere including Wikipedia (a start) and many other places. The tunnel story came form Maria Monk, who claimed ot have been in those tunnels while a nun but who actually was definitely never a nun (and her whole life is documented). She was obviously mentally ill, had been a mental patient and was never even Catholic. The Isis story is easily destroyed by a quick read-through of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, which gives a very different view of Isis. The bit about the IHS meaning Isis Horus Seb falls apart because 1. There is no Egyptian Trinity, 2. If there is a Seb in Egyptian mythology he is very minor and not part of the Ennead 3. it can easily be traced and means Jesus.

I wouldn’t know. But is it necessary for him to actually kill a Catholic? Is it not enough that he spews lies and slanders the beliefs of millions? I guess in your book thats ok. I can’t help but wonder what kind of gnashing or teeth, railing and blathering and what not would result if a Catholic was to do “precisely the same kind of thing as he does”…hmmmm?

How could one refute a lie so outlandish that no one but the most mentally challenged person or hate filled bigot would not find it a lie by the simple use of the Occam´s razor?
How could one refute the Death Cookie? (lets prove there is not a demon in the host), the Semiramis as the Virgin Mary (no data on the existance of Semiramisn as a godess), the Catholics invented Islam (yeah sure), comunism (yeah sure), the Vatican computer with the names of fundies (who have entered the Vatican?).

Chick charges are so baseless that cannot be refuted by a rational person because the have no like to reality to refute!
They are the dreams of a paranoid schizofrenic and is sad proof for the fundies mental state that many of them believe Jack.
Comparing Chick with Hitler or Goebbels is exagerated. He is more like Julius Streicher and Der Sturmer.
But thanks, the World is not as sick ans Nazi Germany was to believe a person like Jack today. But moraly Jack and his fans are on the same level and Julius.

First Sorrow: Simeon’s Prophecy
