Was Saint Paul evil when he rebuked the idol worshippers in the book of acts? I think not. Was he trying to validate his own beliefs? No. Did this demonstrate that his religious beliefs were waek, requiring him to attack other religions? No. He was evangelising to people who didn’t know Jesus.

HMMM-so you bleive the slurs Chick throws at the Catholic Church are accpetable becuase the Church is Evil? Because we worship idols? I suspect the truth of the matter is you have accpeted Chick’s view of the Catholic Church, correct?

Doesn’t the catholic church hold similar views of protestant churches?

Of course not. We view as Seperated bretheren with love and pray for their return to the Church. we acknowledge that they can obtain salvation but that , since Christ can not be seperated from his Church, that salvation comes though his Church

But you didnt answer my question. Do you agree with Chick’s view of the Catholic Church

At this point in his career it is full blown culpable ignorance if Jack Chick refuses to recognize what the Catholic Church teaches. His allegations amount to calumny: bearing false witness.
 
Not only do I say he already has said he agrees with Chick, he in fact uses a link to JC which says Catholics are un Scriptural:

OK, Chris, tell me exactly, in YOUR words, what does the Catholic Church teach that is not Scriptural. We can take one teaching at a time. Let’s start with the Eucharist. I started referencing your link, but it was so full of lies it; made me so sick, I couldn’t go on. So please, either use your own words or reference a link which does not lie or use derogatory and inflammatory terminology. Thank you.
 
You and me both. Our Holy Catholic Church does not need lies and insults to defend herself. Indeed, that goes against everything our HCC teaches. We must love our enemies, we must not bear false witness.

I think the church places too much emphasis on rituals and religious acts when a personal relationship with God is far more important than symbolic actions.

Which Catholic rituals are “symbolic?” And how do they interfere with a Catholic’s personal relationship with God?

Which rutuals are that? Where does Scripture tell us all we need is a peronsonal relationship with God?

This morning I held our Lord and Savior in my hands and followed his intructions to eat his body. How can a relationship be more personal than that?

The two are hardly mutually exclusive, given the fact of the Incarnation. Indeed the Catholic Church does indeed emphasize the importance of such a personal relationship with God, which is expressed through the sensible things of creation (such as sacred objects, times, places, ritual, and ceremony):

"Because God creates through wisdom, his creation is ordered: ‘You have arranged all things by measure and number and weight’ (Wis. 11:20). The universe, created in and by the eternal Word, the ‘image of the invisible God,’ is destined for and addressed to man, himself created in the ‘image of God’ and called to a personal relationship with God" (Catechism of the Catholic Church, #299).

There are quite a few things the RCC teaches that are not in either the Jewish Bible or the Christian Bible. I have always recognized that.

But unlike Protestants, I also recognize that Catholicism looks at things the same way Orthodox Judaism does, which is that not everything they/we believe is to be found in Sacred Scriptures.

Many Catholic beliefs can be found in Church Tradition and the teachings of the church fathers (or in our case, the Talmud, Kabbalah and other rabbinical teachings/writings.)

In Judaism, we had an heretical offshoot called the Karaites. They arose in the 800s, and believed that the only thing they needed to do was obey the Written Torah. They barely lasted because there are many things hinted at in the Written Torah that are given in the Oral Torah (the Talmud and other rabbinical teachings.)

For Catholicism, the equivalent of the Karaites would be the Protestants who adhere to a “Bible only” point of view.

Too many to list, so I’ll just give a few:

the belief that Mary is co-redemptrix

the belief that Mary is mediatrix of all graces

the belief that Mary was perpetually a virgin

the practice of keeping Sunday as the Lord’s day rather than Saturday

belief in the trinity

The Catholic church never claimed to be able to find all their beliefs in the Bible, this is why they have church tradition as well.
