Well I was remembering a time when I watched this guy way back when I was a protestant, and on one of his shows he was going on about how some didn’t believe in the pretrib rapture and that it was of course a 1600’s invention of darby. He contested however that this was not the case that it had been taught way when back in the eary days after christ by the jews (who believed in christ) or something and that the romans or something put a stop to it, I really can’t remember the details, I’m some of you here will, but I was just wondering was this ever true, proven, or disproven???

The rapture has always been taught and believed - but not the way Jack Van Impe believes.

The rapture is what occurrs at the second coming, as explained in the Bible. When Jesus descends from heaven, those who are alive with be “caught up” to meet him in the air. First the “dead in Christ” will rise, then those who remain on earth will rise. This is what the Bible teaches.

Jack Van Impe and others claim that this takes place 7 years before the second coming. This, or course, makes the second coming, the “3rd coming”. None of the Church fathers taught a pre-trib rapture, neither did the 16th century “reformers”. The pre-trib rapture theory first appeared in the 1800’s.

Jack seeks only to do one thing. And that is to gain a large viewing audience. If Jack spoke critically about any Cristian religion, then he would lose that share of the viewing audience. He still preaches easy believe-ism and end time Armageddon is just around the corner stuff. I do like his wife Roxella though. She is very sweet.
