I donāt really consider myself a romantic, but I just about melted when reading the end of Persausion, when Anne reads Cpt. Wentworthās letter.Absolutely LOVE Jane Austen.:extrahappy: She is my favourite author ever. So romantic.I totally agree with you that the 1995 version of Pride and Prejudice is the best adaptation. The BBC always do period dramas the best!
I could watch it over and over again. Having said that though, with regards to the books themselves I love Persuasion as much as I love Pride and Prejudice. The whole notion of finding again a lost love - one you thought was gone forever. Itās just the ultimate in romance - even if a little unrealistic!
But isnāt that what novels are all about - escaping from the real world.

Has anyone seen the preview to āBecoming Janeā? Itās about Jane Austen. It looks pretty good, though Iām not sure how factual it is.
Iāve never seen Bride and Prejudice, but I did watch the modern day version of Pride and Prejudice the other day. I turned it on expecting to completely hate it, but I actually liked it. It was cute. Though Iām sure Jane Austen is spinning in her grave.
