How was your parish’s attendance for today’s solemnity? The vigil Mass last night was well-attended, and this morning’s 8:30 Mass was semi-half full. Overall, there was more people than I expected.
Not sure, but I would think that wearing blue would be the norm since it is a Marian holy day.Quite full. Everyone wore purple. Is that traditional today?
Never heard of it. Personally, I find it extremely tacky to “wear the liturgical color,” like wearing a band’s tour t-shirt to a concert on the tour itself.Quite full. Everyone wore purple. Is that traditional today?
I think it is mostly co-incidence that many people show up wearing the same color as the liturgical color for that day. I also notice that sometimes I will wear a certain color and it just so happens that many people chose to wear that same color at church that day. Sometimes it was the same at the liturgical color and sometimes not. But it was never planned to be, at least on my part.Never heard of it. Went to midday Mass. More people than normal, mainly because there was no evening service. Here in Scotland Phemie 1st Jan no longer a HDoOAbout 100 out of a parish of 1500. Not unusual, I’ve seen the church almost empty for this Mass, nobody seems to know that January 1 is a HDoO
BE AWARE! THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ALLOW 20yo BOYS TO ATTEND PARTIES WHERE DRINK MAY BE CONSUMED AND THERE MAY EVEN BE WOMEN TO TALK TO. THEY CANNOT EVEN REMEMBER THE DAYS OF THE WEEK!
