I’ve never had a mince meat pie. In my mind, “meat” and “pie” just do not belong together!

However you may not do so if you are carrying a mocha coffee because you pose a burning hazard to yourself and desecration risk to the body of the properly executed Welshman. It would be venial unless it’s Starbucks and hence ‘showing off/vanity’ at which point it becomes mortal.

It is a sin if you are knowingly breaking the laws of the country you are living in. I think that’s how it works.

I highly doubt that, as it would lead to moral conundrums. Supposing a law forces you to commit a serious sin and you refuse to? How can that be sinful? And yes, this kind of scenario happens!

We often take advantage of such laws.

And, often fall foul of them. Alas, it is still illegal to eat mince pies in the UK thanks to Oliver Cromwell. I am eating one right now, with the curtains closed. I bought some of a street corner in a dodgy deal. But it’s good stuff.
