Good for Jeff Bezos, the capitalist par excellence. But, as the saying goes, you can’t take it with you. Or, as the Talmud says, “Who is rich? He who is content with his own share.”

Yes, it is. To my mind, the best thing that could happen to Amazon is unionization. It would have to be one huge movement to overcome the opposition to it but, if successful, amazing changes would take place.
There does actually seem to be a lot of industrial action from Amazon employees, or at least attempted action. There’s been a few strikes recently, and in March there were strikes demanding greater protections in regards to coronavirus in New York City, as there has been in other American industries. Frankly the Amazon warehouse seems like an awful place to work, and Amazon seem like a very insidious company in terms of the measures they constantly try to bring in for their employees.

Well done to Jeff Bezos though. Truly a modern Captain of Industry. I’m sure that once he’s a trillionaire he’ll wonder how he ever survived with only billions to his name.
