I’m sorry but I totally disagree with you and your views. Uhhhhh–I don’t think so~~I think these wicked people, regardless of their supposed alleged “last minute conversion” will go straight to you know where. How could you even think THEY can be “saved”? I’m sorry–but this is my view. They are children of Satan–and YES they are not the same as us.
May I ask to what faith you belong? Catholic?

I would be careful. We are called by Jesus to love each other but hate the sin. We should not hate anyone or wish for him or her to go to Hell.

It is good to be disgusted by the acts that they committed, but we should pray for them to change not only so the bad things stop but also so they are not lost for all eternity.

Remember those sins that we do not forgive we also retain. If we cannot forgive others then God may not forgive us… from a Lutheran point of view this means that someone who consistently does not forgive others does not have a healthy, living, and active faith.
We have at some point, in some level rejected God, in that rejection we have rejected his Grace which is necessary for the forgiveness of our sins.

Sparkle, with all due respect, do you think that there are sins so great that God can’t forgive them?

Do you think God is not omnipotent?

Do you think that Jesus didn’t die for all, but only for those select few who “are the same as us?”

People are people. Humans are humans are humans. A person doesn’t cease to be human and turn into a devil because of his/her BAD ACTIONS any more than s/he could turn into an angel because of his/her GOOD actions.

When was Constantine canonized a saint?
I think in the Eastern Church. We honor the saints of the Eastern Church though we may not always publicize them.

From Campion by Christopher Buckley and James MacGuire. Father Campion has been smuggled into Elizabethan England, and will be executed if captured. He receives an urgent call that the sheriff who killed the parish priest and has been seeking him is dying and wants a priest. His companion urges him to ignore the call.

Campion: John, listen to me. A man is dying. He’s asked for a priest. From what you - you, John - have told me, he may have grievous sins to discharge. Would you deny him?

Young Man: I’d introduce him to the devil.

Campion: You speak as if you’ve already met him yourself.

Later John compares the agonizing death of the old priest with the serenity of the death of the sheriff.

Young Man: . . .* No, I don’t forgive so easily.*

Campion (he explodes): You? You don’t forgive so easily: Who are you to send a man to hell? . . .

Sparkle: in many cases these are not ‘last minute conversions’ but events which take months or years of reflection and prayer. We are all, originally, children of Satan: it is the grace of God which saves, not our own righteousness. Dahmer was an especially repugnant sinner by human standards but we are all–in our natural state–far more repugnant to God than Dahmer is to us. And where sin abounds, grace can all the more abound.

There ws a popular picture around a few years back. In it Jesus is a shepherd carrying home a stray lamb with His face buried in its fur. I upset a number of people by reminding them that that lamb might be Jeffrey Dahmer .

Maybe I was prophetic.😉

I once read somewhere that God has far more power to do good than any human being will ever have to evil. He can forgive all sins, whether tiny or huge.

We’ve ALL sinned. And who knows how God will judge our sins? He might consider something that we, in our human foolishness to be minor, to be more heinous than murder. ALL sin hurts our relationship with Him.
