Apologetic Question:

Two Jehovah’s Witness came to my door this Saturday trying to warn me about the end of the world. I proudly was able to defend my faith (hopefully even planted a seed in their heads), but I didn’t know how to respond to a couple of things. When we talked about what would happen at the end of the world, I know they think that they will stay on earth. He said to me what do you think it meant in the Bible “The meek will inherit the earth.” And within the Our Father prayer “Thy Kingdom come on EARTH as it is in heaven”

How should I have responded to this?

Well for one thing it doesn’t say “Thy kingdom come on earth,” it says, “The kingdome come, they will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.” The “kingdome come” and “will be done” are two different requests. The first is that the Kingdom of God will come. The second is that God’s will shall be done on earth JUST AS it is already done in Heaven.
 
JW is a strange sect (most Christians would not consider them “Christian” - I don’t). They use many of the same terms we use, but they mean very different things by them.

They have a big hang-up on the 144,000 Saints in heaven described in Rev. Heaven will only hold (exactly) 144,000 people. Others will live in “paradise on earth” which will be re-made into something like the Garden of Eden.

There are dozens of theological problems with all of this, and dozens of threads in the forums dealing with them.
