Jehovah's just came a knockin'

I’ve had a lot of Jehovah’s Witnesses come to my door. I am a Vietnamese Roman Catholic, and about last year, or so, it was the first time I’ve ever seen Vietnamese Jehovah’s Witnesses. It’s a rarity. LOL. I felt sorry for them. LOL. Wishin’ they were Roman Catholics. LOL

who’s there…?

two little old ladies…awww…and they were so cute!

I panicked…wait a minute…how do I handle this situation?? Everyone says Jehovahs are a cult…but they’re cute little old ladies!! I could never disrespect a little old lady…

“Hi…how could I help you ladies??”

They asked me if I was aware that peace could be found in my lifetime…

“Absolutely, I said”

They asked if I wouldnt mind them reading a passage from the bible, that showed that it was indeed possible…

“Oh sure, no problem, go for it”

They read a passage from Phillipines?? Something to the effect of ‘peace can be found if you ask God for it’…I should have paid more attention to which one it was…sorry…

Then they asked if I wanted a copy of their ‘Watchtower’ magazine…

“Oh, I would hun, but I’m Catholic, and I have to be honest, I wouldn’t read it…it doesnt coincide with our beliefs”

They said, “oh well thats ok, at least you have spiritual direction…so many people have no spiritual guidance these days…they dont know WHATS going on”

“Oh yes, your right, a lot of people do need spiritual guidance, but I’m very aware of whats going on…But I thank you, and appreciate you taking your time to spread the word of the Bible”

((It is the same Bible right??? lol…I mean, spreading His word is still spreading His word right??))

It was a nice, cordial conversation, then I sent them on their way with blessings of good luck and appreciation…

idk…!!! what was I supposed to do!! I felt like I couldnt call them CULT members and slam the door on them…they were little sincere old ladies!!

Maybe it’s just these two ladies, but usually my experience has not been that they are so cordial, nor have I ever seen one say they were glad a non-JW had a spiritual direction without pushing that this direction should be TOWARD the JWs. Mine never went that well. My neighbor once told me the funniest sight she’d ever seen was me, bible in hand, following a JW down the street as they rushed to get into their car and depart the area.

Now this is a first for me to hear. I would have loved to been by your neighbors side watching this! Not that I’m making fun of the JWs no, I’m not, but to see someone trying to Witness to them this way…had to have been a site!

My heart really goes out to the JWs, for the fact they don’t “listen or hear” what someone else is saying. It’s like they wear “earplugs” if our thoughts don’t agree wtih theirs.

Pray for them…keep Praying for them…and then Pray a whole lot more for them.

OP, did you know that “word for word” the conversation they had with you was told to me 7 years ago? This is a normal “Taught” conversation they use when first comming to your door. It’s to “break the ice” so to speak and get you interested…or lure you in.

Although I must confess the JWs Really believe what they are “selling” going door to door. Even if they don’t like the Hours, they have to put in to do it.

The lady that showed up at my door a few months ago, told me she “hates” going door to door like that, but it is required. They have to keep tract of their hours and the area of where they went. They also write down your address, so they know they stopped there at least once. Don’t worry they or someone from their kingdom hall will be back in time…I can promise you that.

Then you’ll notice they start out with the same conversation…maybe different people…but pretty much the same conversation.
