your twisting this as a typical jw would. sugar is not blood and it has nothing to do with blood. or the use of it for saving lives. your not going to twist this on me steve. iam to smart for that. the Bible does not prohibit the use of blood transfusions, nor does it prohibit the use of it for saving lives. the society prohibits the use of blood transfusions not the Bible.your not fooling anyone with the deliberate misdirection. none of us are fooled. blood transfusions were not invented back then. so your point is irrelevent. period. we’re not fooled and we never will be. we do not eat or drink blood period. transfusions are not eating or drinking of blood. so your point is invalid and irrelevent. and is not a point at all.

Not only that but the word being translated as blood in acts can be translated as bloodshed or murder. The word blood is an archaic word in english for bloodshed and murder. This seems to be a prohibition against intentionally killing or harming things as part of pagan rituals. This seems consistent with fornication and abstaining from foods sacrificed to idols as both were rites practiced in pagan cults.

your point is a good one turtullian. also note that jw’s are masters at twisting things. they are not fooling anyone. no one can reconcile the thousands of deaths because of a lack of a life saving transfusion except the witnesses themselves. their governing body is a lying pack of hypocrites that perpetuates the lies they teach, and one of the biggest and irreconcilable lies is the blood transfusion.

Like I said. The Bible simply says “Abstain from _________”

If you inserted any word in there, like sugar, salt, alcohol, tobacco, wine, beer, soda pop, grapefruit juice, penicillan, etc. etc. we’d all know that injecting the material into our veins would violate the command.

However, insert the word blood, and out comes all the rationalism that the scripture doesn’t mean what it says.

If you want to take a blood transfusion, they go ahead. I won’t stop you… it’s your decision.

I have made my own decision on this. I’ve given my reasons. If you want to disagree with them, that’s fine.

… their governing body is a lying pack of hypocrites that perpetuates the lies they teach, …
Just curious if this type of speech is within forum rules. If I said the exact same phrase and changed “governing body” to some group of men within the Catholic Church, would I be reprimanded or banned?

ask the mods. but the truth is the truth, and iam not going to apologize for stating the truth about the governing body.

your interpretation of what the Scriptures means is wrong. period. iam not going to sit here and quibble back and forth. there was NO quote from ANY where in the Bible back in those days about blood transfusions. period. you are NOT listening steve when i told you that blood is NOT absorbed by the body as food when it is transfused into the veins to save a life. your not listening and there is no point in further discussing this with you. you are indoctrinated by the society and the only thing that will ever severe your ties is Christ Himself. we will pray for you to get out. i know i will.

One last point. Here is a good topic to research. Its from the CA library. witnesses love to twist things, and just read this and see what kind of strategies they use.

Strategies of the Jehovah’s Witnesses

their “gospel” is false and their presentation is carefully “pre-packaged,” (underlined be me for emphasis)

catholic.com/library/Strategies_of_Jehovah_Witness.asp

Here is another quote from the CA library,

It should be noted that JWs will use other Bible translations, but only when it suits their purposes to do so.

The NWT is universally rejected by non-Witnesses, including secular Greek and Hebrew scholars

. These scholars, and informed critics of the Watchtower, speculate that few of the members who served on the committee were experienced as translators or even knew the rudiments of Hebrew or Greek; the NWT appears to be little more than a modification of already-existing English versions

WTS does this partly because it supresses individuality within the organization and partly because it prevents the reader from examining an author’s requisite credentials to teach on the given subject matter. Witnesses are taught to submit to the WTS, not to question its publications.

catholic.com/library/Are_They_Awake_on_the_Watchtower.asp

we are to believe what they teach about blood transfusions as acceptable? and true? because they say it so in the Bible? we cannot trust their rendition, nor can we trust what they say is true when its not true. futhermore, they do teach untruth so what i stated about them being liars and hypocrites is the truth. they love to ridicule the Catholic faith in their publications and they call us all sorts of things, we are to not call them hypocrites? why not?
they are. the teach falsehoods and they don’t let their members question any of the publications and that is wrong. the truth is they lie and they perpetuate the lies, and call all religions demonic. we are not allowed to tell the truth about the governing body? you better believe we are.

people sacrifice their lives for this society and what it teaches. so why we cannot tell the truth about them is beyond me. why we cannot bring it to the attention of someone who might get involved with them is also beyond me,. we have a moral and ethical right to tell the truth about a false organization that is not of God. and we have the right to save a life and souls of those who might otherwise not be knowledgeable about what they practice and how they use strategies to get these people in their society. so yes, i will tell the truth! especially if it saves someones soul and perhaps even their life!

We are talking about the NT command here:

(Acts 15:28-29) For the holy spirit and we ourselves have favored adding no further burden to YOU, except these necessary things, 29*to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication.
It seems obvious to me that this is saying don’t drink blood as people sometimes did back then. If it was so important you would think Jesus would have mentioned it wouldn’t you. Using such a vague scripture to send your followers to their death is despicable. Why would god want people to die over this? Your religion is sickening and your leaders are murderers.

The JWs foolishly insert their own meaning into this scripture which is clearly instructing the early church followers not to engage in various pagan rituals.

again I say:

exit stage left…(Snagglepuss’ famous last line)

was it the futility of 110 posts and not winning any brownie points for JWs, or the threat on another thread that someone alerted the WTBS that you were on Catholic Apologetic forums and NOT counting your time here?

Hey Ravyn, let’s not bother with these posts, you know where they all end up, NOWHERE. All the JWs leave sooner or later. They cannot take the pressure of not being able to win a discussion against a Catholic. They all think we are all poorly catechized, bad thing for them is that not all of us are and we will not fall for the falsetower!

Just offer prayers for them, one day, they will too, find the true path to God!

I know–I gave in to the temptation of one last parting shot. I unsubbed from these threads and joined Prayer Warriors. I am tired of all the hate. Spent the day working in my Cenacle Formation Manuel for Eucharistic Apotles of the Divine Mercy. The part about forgiveness hit hard today. Talking about even if the person who injured you is not sorry…
well anyway–keep in touch with PM…I am sure we will see each other on some other threads…and thank Jesus if either of us need a blood transfusion we will get it!!! And we can drink the Real Blood of our Savior everyday!

People, watch out with BibleSteve! He cannot be trusted. He is violating forum rules. Just take a look for yourselves. Click here

I already told the Mods.

for the sake of charitable discussion, and to remind us all of the forum rules which states that we aren’t allowed to carry one post to another one, and respect for the mods, iam not going to respond to this post anymore. we have tried in vain to get him to debate with us fairly. anything i have stated about the governing body was my opinion, and mine only.

i felt like i stated the truth, and provided ample evidence to support the statements i made. i wont engage any further in this topic. i have said what i said, and for me, this is it.

This thread is now closed, thank you to all who have participated.

God bless-

Rachel
