Personally, when they come to my door, I politely say “No thanks, I am a Catholic”, and close the door gently.

(You could ask them why their leaders quit predicting the exact dates of the end of the world - and were always wrong. )

They told me all of their proof is in the Bible and that is why they feel I need to attend a study session with them to understand the truth. In regards to the Pope, they said he is nothing but a sham and leading over a billion people astray.

If you look closely you can find it in the beginning of the book, however they do not make it prominent.
It appeared to me that they wanted people to read it without knowing it was JW. I have a non-Catholic friend who bought one assuming that it was a normal Bible. I found the “Watchtower” and showed it to him. He removed it from his home.

Hard to find a point one can agree on with JWs. I have one who is trying to convert me. Whatever. She brought up the celebration of birthdays and Christmas is pagan. So I was thinking the next time she brings it up, I plan on asking her what she thinks of the visit to Christ by the three kings. They gave Him gifts and He accepted them. Didn’t seem to cause a problem. Also JWs did celebrate both individual birthdays and Christmas up to sometime in the 1940s.
Another thing she brought up was that the cross is a pagan symbol dating back to some religion in the Near East. In this video, it shows a vertical bar. Yet, archeology will verify that the cross was commonly used by the Romans. Where do they get their info?

If this person ever comes back, if they are married…ask them if they exchanged wedding rings or wore a veil. Both go back to pagan customs.

They are against birthdays because someone in the OT was ordered killed on a birthday and because John the Baptist was killed as a birthday request.

I don’t get the “NO TO Christmas” thing…

Thanks for the wedding tip. Ditto for throwing rice, carrying bride over threshold, cutting cake. Might as well stay home and be bored.

Re. Christmas: First, it is Christ’s birthday. And it is celebrated on Dec. 25 which is close to Dec. 21 when the Romans celebrated the winter solstice. According to the JWs, this indicates that the Catholic Church is celebrating a pagan feast. Go figure.

According to Luke, Gabriel visited Mary in the sixth month of the Jewish calendar which would be March. We celebrated the Annunciation on March 25. Nine months later, it is Dec. 25.

If I’m seen right seems to me like Jehovah Witnesses are creating their own Religion & Beliefs over the years that may not had been part of the Religion back in the Day Including rewriting of their Bible’s & all which to me been A Catholic it seems very Immoral & Disrespectful to god our Lord Jesus to Rewrite what is God’s Word Into Your own Beliefs I’m not downing the JW’s But rewriting Bibles & Books seem to be like A Cult Or something & Very Disrespectful to God by Rewriting His Book Of his words .

& Its true The JW’s did at one point Celebrate Birthdays, Christmas’s & Holiday’s It seems like they’ve token This out of their Religion too Over the years .

& May I add I’m not trying to down No one for What they Believe & What Religion they Choose But I believe the Reason why Jehovah Witnesses Are so Hateful & Jealous of Catholics & The Catholic Church Is because they know We are the Real deal & They’ve Redone & Rewritten Their Religion Over the Years Which If anyone thinks & looks at it Their Religion & Beliefs are Made up Which Would make them FAKE A FAKE Religion Base On Not True Beliefs But Fake Made up Beliefs & this is Why they Hate Catholics & The Catholic Church so much because I have yet to Hear The Catholic Church rewriting Bibles & Text Books to Fit A new Leaders Belief Or Members Beliefs .

JW’s Seem to be A Cult & FAKE Rather then A True Honest Religion & that’s Why? they feel the need to Throw Jabs at Catholics & The Catholic Church Because From what I Know of & Have heard of about JW Not A True Honest Religion .

& May I also be Honest I’ve never had any desire to Read their Trash TowerWatch & Awaking Booklets they Leave at your Doorstep Even Before I Converted to Catholic I Was Baptist & I would hear Bad stuff about JW & its Members & That’s why I have Never Cared for JW Religion .

I Converted to Catholic & The Catholic Church 3-4 Years ago & I’m planing on Joining As A Devoted Catholic Member soon & I’m still Learning But Have Found that The Catholic Church Fills me up with What I Need & that’s God’s Word & Spiritually Catholic Church & Its Beliefs Seem Real Traditions of the Church has been Intact for years I Just love been Tought the True word of God & People who Are Out for Good Instead of Evil & The JW Religion seems to be Teaching its Members Evil & The Devil’s Work .

I personally think its Disrespecting God & His word the Bible Is suppose to be The Truth & From God & in His own Word Why? go & rewrite The Bible to fit what you Believe in That’s Disrespect God .

Don’t debate JW. They will mark you as a sheep or a goat. You will be a goat. There is a movie that you can get about the Watchtower, put out by Leonard Chretien, there is also a 3 tape audio with Patrick Madrid, I escaped the Watchtower. This would give you the information you need to understand the JW.

I have a copy of his movie somewhere. They do use the same old 2 timothy 3 16 to tell you that all scripture is inspired and then from there they continue to their theology using their bible.

When they have the bread and wine sacrament! Only the special chosen 144,000 are allowed to take this holy communion!
As the pass it around to each other the majority who are outside this 144,000 have to reject the bread and wine!
