hello the verses form Jer 44:17,25 have got me stumped they mention something about the queen of heaven if you can please help me understand the meaning & what they’re refering too

The “Queen of Heaven” being referenced is a pagan mother-goddess, perhaps Ishtar.
Jeremiah is talking about Isrealite idol worshippers.

from the Haydock Bible Commentary

Ver. 17. The queen of heaven; the moon, which they worshipped under this name, (Challoner) as also under that of the Celestial Venus, (Theodoret) Diana, and Isis. It seems the Jews had engaged by vow (ver. 27.) to restore her worship. (Calmet) — The women more particularly adored the moon: yet all were guilty, chap. vii. 18., and 4 Kings xxiii. 5. (Worthington)

Anti-Catholic Protestants often quote this passage, along with Jer 7:18, completely out of context. These passages are prophesies about things that were happening, and would happen in Jeremiah’s time, not in the distant future. As other posters said, the “queen of Heaven” in these passages is a Pagan “goddess,” or a combination of several Pagan “goddesses,” of that time and place. It has absolutely nothing to do with Mary, or the Catholic Church, because neither existed in that time.

I do admit though, that I still feel somewhat uncomfortable calling Mary the Queen of Heaven, even though Rev 12:1-5 seems to depict her as such. I guess this uncomfortable feeling comes from my Protestant past.

Thanks for those links! That first article greatly eases my mind, and hopefully, it will do the same for the OP.
