Priests can include children or people in the pews in their homilies and even use visual aids or whatnot (it’s unconventional and certain people might not like it, but oh well) but as far as I know they just can’t skip it entirely. I know a priest who was previously a pharmacist and he’s a very detail-oriented person and sometimes he shows posters or objects and incorporates them into his homilies. He is an excellent priest.
I think you’d be better off asking somebody in the diocese if it bothers you.
