A quick updating of the “Jesuitesses” list:

Cenacle

Sisters of Mary Reparatrix

Congregatio Jesu

Religious of Jesus and Mary

Society of the Sacred Heart

Poor Servants of the Mother of God

Faithful Companions of Jesus

Handmaids of the Sacred Heart

Sisters of the Holy Child Jesus

Sisters of St. Joseph

Sisters of St. Andrew

Sisters of St. Ann

Religious of the Virgin Mary

Blessings,
Cloisters

A few more Ignatian spirituality communities:

Missionary Sisters of St. Peter Claver

Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara

Les Xaviere (Canada)

Sisters of Charity of Australia

I believe St. Faustina’s congregations are also Ignatian.

Blessings,
Cloisters

Thanks for a great discussion, all!

I am working on a website where information like that you shared, as well as inspiration and community, could be developed. If you’re curious, the url is www.jesuitwomen.net.

Cloisters, would it be ok if I used your research on the “Ignatian Women’s Religious Orders” page? I can credit you if you like.

Peace and prayers,

Maggie

Certainly! I will also be posting your link to our Cloister Outreach and CONF Yahoo groups. All of our proposed charisms will begin as Ministries within the CAMM/CCMM. Vincentianism is a Way, not a particular spirituality. Several of our proposed charisms will have Ignatian spirituality. When there are enough vocations, the ministry will branch off into its own community. The CCMM will have non-religious annual vows, and the vocations will be self-sufficient until they form their communities. We are benchmarking off the diocesan hermit typology where self-sufficiency is concerned.

I had briefly corresponded with another poster from CAF who had wanted to be a Jesuitess. I had thought perhaps the “Daughters of St. Ignatius of Loyola” could be founded, but I never heard back from her.

St. Francis de Sales was Jesuit-educated, and his Introduction to the Devout Life is a “watered down” version (for lack of a better term) of St. Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises. I have found that I cannot go through the IDL once I’ve been through the SE.

Blessings,
Mrs. Cloisters, OP
