My brother isn’t catholic or Protestant he doesn’t know what he is but he always watches Protestant videos and reads there websites he showed me the Jesuit oath I told him it’s lies and Jesuits don’t take that oath I told him I’d come here for answers and he said I shouldn’t because the answeres will be from a Catholic point of view and I said you all will only say facts and real history I want to prove him wrong and I’m going to forward all your answeres to him oh I forgot he also said Fatima the pilgrimage site is named after Muhammads daughter (Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

Oh sorry Rosie, I mistook this for some kind of new poster/ troll post.

No it’s not true. This is completely ridiculous.

I doubt very much your brother would believe anything we say about it though.

Speaking of history!
Fatima the pilgrimage site is named after Muhammads daughter
It doesn’t take a “Catholic point of view” to know that Fatima is in Portugal and that Portugal along with Spain were both conquered by the Muslims. Of course there are traces of that period of time in their city names and architecture. Even so, who cares if it is? Is God suddenly unable to work miracles because they would be taking place in cities named after non-Christians? The answer is obviously no.

Fatima the pilgrimage site is named after Muhammads daughter
Fatima is indeed an Arabic name; and the name of the Prophet’s daughter. However, it is a common enough name among Muslim women, and it is just as likely that the town was named after one of these…a noble woman, perhaps. The so-called ‘Jesuit Oath’ is pure farce. Protestant anti-Jesuit propaganda!

Rosie, I feel so sorry for your brother, taking his entertainment from sources that are poisoning his mind. That so called “oath” would be laughable except for the damage it can do to an innocent person who might read and believe it.

Praying for you and your brother 🙏

Googling “Jesuit Oath” will bring up the long and sorry history of this utter anti-Catholic falsehood. It’s even been investigated by Protestant publications and declared fake by them. But it seems to live on in corners of fundamentalist bigotry.

I think you are wasting your time. Anyone who would actually believe what you posted isn’t really open to dialog. Because it’s, frankly, ridiculous. And, how is it you are supposed to “prove” the Jesuits don’t take this oath, particularly as it is supposedly a “secret oath”? He’s set you up for something impossible for you to do, and he isn’t going to accept whatever you tell him.

Your brother has some serious issues if this is the sort of thing he spends his time on.

He’s the one who has asserted the Jesuits take this oath, the burden of proof is on him. And, “it says so on the internet” is not proof.
he also said Fatima the pilgrimage site is named after Muhammads daughter
The town of Fatima is named after a person named Fatima. Historically, a princess in the middle ages captured by a knight during the time of fighting between the Spanish Christians and the Moors who ruled the Iberian peninsula. That name was indeed made popular because Mohammed had a daughter named Fatima and it is likely this princess was named after that other Fatima, or maybe the town was named after Mohammed’s daughter.

The town was founded sometime in the 1100s.

The town became famous when the peasant children received the apparitions of Mary near there. The name of the town predates the apparitions by over 800 years.

Coincidence is when the Enemy is at work… God seeks not blind accepting but Union within the Spirit.
The Quaran says to believe “Mary’s son” was “Allah” (God) is blasphemy. This puts us at odds with the Muslims. Mary is one with God (Father) as a saint and one with God (Son) through her love and faith. The name of the city in which she appeared is irrelevant, it’s just a congruemt.(apparemt) coincidence.

He sent me this on messenger he also said the jesuits where the popes assassins and they killed people he’s always on YouTube watching anti catholic videos

How old is this oath supposed to be?

The use of “Liberals” in a political sense dates to the 19th century. Furthermore, even when used in the political sense, Liberal means different things in different countries.

Nonetheless, people will see what they want to see regardless of facts.

If the Jesuits swore to torture and kill liberals, they’d be committing suicide all the time.

the jesuits where the popes assassins
I have heard of Jesuits referred to as “Soldiers of Christ,” meaning that they would put themselves in bodily danger to travel to the far corners of the world to carry out a mission of evangelization.

Besides, I thought it was Opus Dei that were the pope’s assassins. (I’M KIDDING!! JOKE!!)

Yeah, they believed that if they were martyred, the faith would spread. As a consequence, many of them went to their own awful martyrdoms praising God.

Notice they were planning to die themselves…not kill other people.

“Liberal Catholicism” meant something completely different in the 19th century than it did today. Wikipedia explains this in detail.

Rosie, I am sorry but your brother is off the beam and I don’t think he has an open mind on this at all. It would probably be better if you just deleted such nonsense and didn’t waste time thinking or posting about it.

Yeah, and they’re such infamous assassins that they take painful care to prevent that sensitive information from being leaked, and everyone who spreads that “truth” gets killed, right? Because why would assassins let people blow their cover?

You win the forum today, good Sir!

(Luckily all the goofy Jesuits of our times are outweighed by the intellectual giant who is Fr. James Schall, S.J.)

Did he actually WATCH the video?

Nowhere in this video is Pope Francis espousing “one world religion”. What he did say is that dialogue is important as we work for peace.

Hmmm…
one world religion: no
dialogue among peoples: yes

Hardly a radical notion.

I haven’t watched the video i don’t really watch anti catholic videos I usually delete them and I don’t give them the time of day but sometimes there hard to ignore especially when people have them playing in the car like one time he was playing a video about a nun who was tortured by other nuns but she escaped and drank some milk and fainted I think her name was either Theresa or Charlotte then she suddenly disappeared I don’t believe it for one second tbh
