Hi

Jesus was a Jew and accepted OTBible as a source of religious Law. Torah book of Moses was his source of Law.

He himself never wrote a Book and never dictated anything in writing or he did not authorize anybody to write a book on his behalf and publish it.

This makes NTBible a book not at all required for religious following; may be a redundant book, in my opinion.

This is what I believe in sincerity; others could hold on to their own beliefs with sound reasons, no compulsion.

I love Jesus and Mary

Thanks

Wrong. He more often said it to CONTRAST Old Testament teachings with His own than to agree with them.

Prime example Matthew 5:38-39 ‘It is written ‘an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth’ [scripture from OT] BUT I SAY to you not to resist evil: but if one strike thee on thy right cheek, turn to him also the other …’

Here He contrasts the OT authorisation of proportional vengeance with His own idea of vengeance being inappropriate.

Matthew 28:19
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them inthe name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

Acts 13:49
The word of the Lord spread through the whole region.

Why are u so hung up on an actual written book paarsurrey?

Is this the only way u think u can win the argument?

Jesus told His disciples to go make other disciples and spread the Word

That is what they did.

First, by telling what they had learnt

Then in later years, writing it all down for future generations

Who authorised Mohammed to write the Koran? And how do u know that is true?

Hm. As I recall, Jesus generally used to use “it is written”: when he was referring to the codes of Judaic law - he was a very learned rabbi at a very early age. Even though we don’t have any of his own personal writings, it is very clear he was a very widely and well-educated man and a bold and innovative thinker. He was obviously a brilliant and determined student of the Judaic code of law, the best medical instruction available at the time, knew several languages and was a charismatic, idealistic and brilliant in the arts of oratory and dialogue. In short, he was a powerful and effective teacher.

Quite an guy, no matter what you may or may not think of the existence of God or the deity-nature of the man himself, and revolutionalized the entire conception of many people’s Judaic monotheistic God in his short lifetime. Not only that, his teaching stuck long after his death, even if some people went on to make their own editorial modifications with greater of lesser success along the way

May I know what is "Quite an guy"?

Hi Paarsurry, I find that the first thing that Muslims do is compare Christ with Mohamed. It is not the same thing, Mohamed was a prophet, Christ is the Son of God. Don’t compare God with man in that way, it is extremely blasphemous. Your religion is one I look at with great heart ache, for it insists on condemning Jesus to the role of prophet and The Holy Spirit’s role as Comforter is taken away and given to Mohamed. Why does it touch on Christianity? I have really dubious qualms about the ones who believe that God is going to allow a whole lot of orgies in Heaven. I understand the fundamentals of your religion, I understand the beauty that can be held in a Qurbaan, I understand the way you greet, but YAHWEH is not allah, we don’t believe in the same God, my God isn’t represented in a black box in the middle of the desert. I’ve read your threads, stop comparing Christianity with Islam it is not the same thing, that you want to adopt Jesus as a prophet to make your religion more … fill in the gap, is beyond me, for you do not at any time advocate the celebration of him. Not the muslims I know anyway, they all admit that He is mentioned in the Koran, but no one celebrates Him and in fact they distance themselves from Him tremendously.

Hi

I don’t deny that Jesus had the above qualities; that make it most essential that he should have left something in writing. If he wanted some iprovement or reformation in Toran, which he though has been corrupted by the rabbis, whom he admonished
so much, then he should have definitely written down a Book himself.

If he was a CatholicGod as you believe why he failed this imprtant task; he must have lived longe enough to complete this improtant project, in my opinion. This make him a failed god; and god he never claimed.

The above cited qualities by you are sufficient to make him a great man indeed; let him at least remain a perfect man at least.

Please don’t get confused. I don’t want to confuse anybody; I only want to increase your confidence in Truth.

I love Jesus and Mary

Jesus did inspire a book to be written, because he didnt write the book himself, it doesnt mean he cant inspire someone else to write it for him, after all, he is God, he can inspire anyone to do his will.
That is why he had people around him to **witness **what he preached, and what had transpired.

Now Paarsurrey, answer these 2 questions.
  1. Who also witness muhammad talking to the angel?
  2. Why didnt allah write the quran himself? actually, why didnt he get muhammad to write it for him? You often accuse Jesus of not leaving a written summary of his life, why didnt muhammad not write down anything? And dont tell me he was illiterate, if he was truly inspired by allah, allah would have given him the gift of reading and writing.

Jesus never failed anything, he came and completed *everything *

John 14
6 Jesus said: I am the Way; I am Truth and Life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
7 If you know me, you will know my Father too. From this moment you know him and have seen him.
8 Philip said, ‘Lord, show us the Father and then we shall be satisfied.’ Jesus said to him,
9 'Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and you still do not know me? 'Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father, so how can you say, “Show us the Father”?
10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? What I say to you I do not speak of my own accord: it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his works.
11 You must believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe it on the evidence of these works.
12 In all truth I tell you, whoever believes in me will perform the same works as I do myself, and will perform even greater works, because I am going to the Father.
13 Whatever you ask in my name I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
The above cited qualities by you are sufficient to make him a great man indeed; let him at least remain a perfect man at least.
Jesus is perfect, as man and as G-d
Please don’t get confused. I don’t want to confuse anybody; I only want to increase your confidence in Truth.
Thank you for your concern, and you are increasing my faith in the truth, the more i read the bible, the more the truth comes to me!
If anyone needs a good dose of truth, its you Paarsurry, sorry, but i just dont buy what your trying to sell.
I love Jesus and Mary
So do i!

Thanks

**LilyM, you are right. It is written means it is written in bibleOT, “an eye for an eye”. Jesus respected that law and acted according to that law. He further advised all the Jews (including his followers) not to resist evil. Because there was evil all around. The Jews had fallen down so much morally and spiritually that it was not wise to take revenge.

There could be no better advice to mankind except what Jesus gave to his people. Even now if that advice is followed, the world would become a good living place, a paradise.

The Jews were under foreign rule too. I say, they had lost everything. Jesus was the last chance for them which they did not avail. They disgusted him and tried to kill him. That was the end of the Jewish supermacy and the end of the Jewish law for the mankind.

After rejection of Jesus, there was never to be raised any man of God amongst the Jews. When Jesus said, “It is written…” What did he mean? Where it is written? There was no NT at that time. He referred the matter to the BibleOT. That it is written in the bibleOT. He always took the people to the OT. He did not abrogate the law of Moses. He rather suggested refinements in that law so that people do not follow that blindly; so that they should use some sense and honesty too. Jesus did not abrogate even a small article of the Jewish law.

Jesus rather abused teh Jews for their malpractices. misdeeds.

Jesus tried his best for his people. But, as he said, “A prophet is never respected (honored) in his own city…” he was rejected by the Jewish elders. But God did not reject him. Many understanding poor people gathered around him and there was a big following. They were persecuted for about 300 years. But God helped them (the believers in Jesus) and they prevailed upon the enemies and became victorius**. (Quran chapter 61, verse 14.)

A Muslim discounting oral tradition?

So, do you tell all the folks down at the mosque that they don’t have to pay any attention to any hadith?

Did Jesus really say, "A prophet is never respected (honored) in his own city."? Planten, please show your reference and make sure it is introduced with the words, “It is written” so that this thread would stand to its claim.
