Do you really think I’m ignorant about these prophets …I asked you not their names but to quote from the OT that God spoke to All of these prophets…you have given reference only to Moses so far
Great! 👍

Since you aren’t ignorant about the Biblical Prophets, well when go an internet Bible, and search for their name and read. 👍 Goodle is your friend at all times.

Do you honestly think I am going to post each and every verse/chapter in here… :tsktsk:

It’s you who claimed that God spoke to all the prophets…but when asked for reference ,you didn’t give any reference other than for Moses…it’s your claim not mine,so do the search or admit it’s not true that God spoke to all the prophets…i.e directly

Jakasaki, Mohammed was never spoken to directly by Him but instead through the angel Gabriel.

~ snip ~ …

.
Yes, I already know that.

My question why is it that allah never spoke to mohamad, as God speaks to His Prophets. That was the question, which now I’ve asked under the “ask about islam” thread.

And one of the muslim members pointed out this “night journey” incident where it is claimed that mohamad saw allah, and Jesus and Moses.

However, there is a hadith, it’s long, but I;ll post the important part:

0337 - It is narrated on the authority of Masruq that he said:

I was resting at (the house of) 'A’isha that she said:

O Abu 'A’isha (kunya of Masruq), there are three things, and he who affirmed even one of them fabricated the greatest lie against Allah.

I asked that they were.

**She said: He who presumed that Muhammad (may peace be upon him) saw his Lord (with his ocular vision) fabricated the greatest lie against Allah. **

… and then it goes on to say that Aishia recited these 2 verses as confirmation that mohamad never saw allah.

Koran 6:103 - **No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision: He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things. **

Koran 42:51 - **It is not fitting for a man that Allah should speak to him except by inspiration, or from behind a veil, or by the sending of a messenger to reveal, with Allah.s permission, what Allah wills: for He is Most High, Most Wise. **

Although God spoke to Prophet Moses (pbuh) on the mountain, Moses (pbuh) did not see the image of the Lord.

Likewise, although God spoke to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) on the night of ascension, he did not see the image of the Lord.

Jesus (pbuh) is NOT the only “son of God” mentioned in the Bible:

Jacob is God’s son and firstborn: “Israel is my son, even my firstborn” Exodus 4:22.

Solomon is God’s son “He shall build an house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son”: 2 Samuel 7:13-14.

Ephraim is God’s firstborn: “for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.” Jeremiah 31:9 → Who is God’s firstborn – Israel or Ephraim??

Adam is the son of God “Adam, which was the son of God.” Luke 3:38.

Common people (you and me) are the sons of God:
"Ye are the children of the LORD your God" Deuteronomy 14:1. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” Romans 8:14. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:” John 1:12. “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;” Philippians 2:15. “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: … now are we the sons of God” 1 John 3:1-2. “When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” Job 38:7. “Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD,” Job 2:1. “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD,” Job 1:6. “when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men,” Genesis 6:4. “That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they [were] fair” Genesis 6:2

And was Jesus the only begotten Son of God? (with a capital ‘S’ in the word ‘Son’ even!) → Read Psalms 2:7

"I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me (King David, King), Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee."
🙂 so **hamba2han you said “****(you and me) are the sons of God”

*** Do you like to be called son of God?
  • Good references above, then WHY Allah came later on and denied that in Quran?

to understand the words of different people , you have to understand thier culture

it was common in the culture of jews at the time that son of God be understood in the sense of servant of God or prophet , this culture is clear in OT

but christians attributed the sonity of jesus to God refering to divine nature

in culture of arab we don’t use this expression “son of God” but we can use it for the sake of finding common langauge with others to express about our relation with God in the sense of rightious servants , not more than that

This is a strange assertion. Sam is an Arab, and he has been discussing this idea with you, using that expression that you claim Arabs are for some reason not culturally allowed or likely to use. No other Arab Christian I have ever met has any problem using, and that includes some Eastern Orthodox Egyptians (Arabs, not Copts).

** In the name of Allah , the Most Gracious , Ever Merciful **

No Muslims should use the term ’ son of God ’ as Quran clealry states that** God does not beget nor was He begotten. . **

And they (Jews, Christians and pagans) say: Allah has begotten a son (children or offspring).

Glory be to Him (Exalted be He above all that they associate with Him). Nay, to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth, and all surrender with obedience (in worship) to Him.

( سورة البقرة , Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #116)

Please read more carefully, MW. I wrote “Arab Christian”, so obviously I was not talking about Muslims.
