Since Jesus was born without a bio father and Mary had XX chromosomes, how did Jesus become male?
From the SRY gene or something else?

Are you asking for Church doctrine, or for personal opinion?

Because, obviously, there is no Church doctrine. The Church doesn’t teach about genetics (even if the father of modern genetics was a Catholic priest).

If you are asking for personal opinion then I will offer mine: God the Father supplied Our Lord’s Y chromosome through a divine miracle which science will never be able to explain.

It is very simple. Every human has maternal DNA and paternal DNA.

Jesus is fully human - he received his maternal DNA from Mary and his paternal DNA from the Holy Spirit.

How did Jesus get his paternal DNA from the Holy Spirit? We don’t know - it is a mystery. David is exactly correct. It was a divine miracle.

That’s all there is to it.

It was the reverse of the process that allowed Eve, a female, to be formed from the male Adam’s body cells.

I know you will have issues with this, but as a nonphilosopher and nongeneticist, it’s good enough for me.

That’s an interesting question. I have only an uninteresting answer: God did it.

We do not know how he obtained it, but he must have had a normal Y chromosome. It could not possibly have come from his mother, and by faith we know that Jesus had no human father. I would have to conclude that the paternal DNA of Jesus was given him miraculously.
