Scripture tells us that Jesus exhibited the marks on His hands after His resurrection. In fact, Thomas touched these and believed.

What about all of the other marks, bruises, cuts, etc? Were these also on His body after His resurrection for the 40 days until the Ascension?

wow! what a great question. never thought of it in those terms. does make you wonder, huh? i’m hoping someone has the answer because i come up with nothing but air.

I would say, no. As bruised and bloody as He was, He wouldn’t have been recognizable.

And as further evidence, Thomas wouldn’t have had to probe the wounds to know it was Jesus. He would simply have had to have seen all the wounds and realized that This was Jesus.

I think, and this is only my opinion, is that all the other wounds are merely signs of torture. The 5 wounds, though, are the signs of Crucifixion.
