John 12:45 - Jesus says, “He who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.” God the Father is equal to God the Son.

Jesus is the Word of God that took flesh. In other words, Jesus was both a human being ( who eats, sleeps, cry, laugh, die ecc), and divine. In the Bible you find the 2 natures of Jesus. So The Word did not exist because of Mary. The Word (Jesus)existed always but the Word “became” Jesus ( that is, took flesh)at the incarnation. So when you think of Jesus, you immagine the man Jesus, but Jesus essentially is not a man. People and Saints who see Jesus in visions for example , either see Jesus the man, (the way He walked on earth), or Jesus as a very strong light.

First, in all fairness, you should quote the full verse, which is

*Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” *

In the Gospel of John the crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and crowning of Jesus are all different stages of Jesus being lifted up. He was lifted up on the cross, He was lifted up from the dead, He was lifted up into heaven, and He was lifted up on to a throne. Part of the lifting has already been completed, but not all of it. Jesus, God the Son, has not yet returned to the God the Father.

He calls God his Father because he is naturally his Father in the Godhead, and he says your Father because he is our Father by grace through the adoption of the sons of God: that is, by taking us by his free grace to be his sons.

Yet he does not say, Our God: for no creature can be raised to an equality with him: but *my God *and your God: intimating that the Father is his in a singular and incommunicable manner; and ours through him, in such a kind as a creature is capable of.

I have a few things to state before proceding to my answer.
First, I do not like *the way *you make up this thread, for its title lacks the question you are posing to us Christians. The title should have been formed as a question - Did Jesus deny being God in the Bible? -or you should have attached a question to your allegation that looks like a scientific fact in this current form -Jesus denied being God in the Bible, is this true?

Second, you seem to have supported your mere claim by referring to Mohammed’s scripture. You should have known that the Quran means nothing to us! Therefore, we would just jeer at your supposed evidence even if you quoted thousands of verses from Mohammed’s book

Third, you seem to be unfamiliar with the Christian teaching about Incarnation as well as with other few verses in the New Testament that are misinterpreted by people like you to deny Jesus’ divinity. We all read & know very well that Jesus said in the Gospel “No one knows that hour, neither the Son nor the angels; but the Father in heaven”. Why do you not quote that biblical verse as well to back up the Islamic faith? Oh, wait a second! In that verse Jesus claims to be higher than all men by comparing Himself to angels and naming Himself the Son! This might be the reason underlying your aversion to this verse because your dear resul Mohammed bin Abdullah hated that title

Fourth, you are walking in the footsteps of your resul Mohammed by referring to a biblical verse in order to turn Lord Jesus into the pathetic prophet Issa of Mohammed’s fantasies. It is saddening that Islamic mentality has had no progress for so many centuries. Mohammed had claimed to debunk Jesus’ divinity by pointing at His eating food in 05:75 since he failed to know and comprehend that Jesus in Christianity has both divine and human nature due to the mystery of Incarnation. I wish I had warned Mohammed about the Christian faith in Incarnation. Maybe the Quran would be free of an important sign of the Islamic scribes’ ignorance.

Fifth, you are taking that verse out of its context to rejoice in the misunderstanding that the Bible denies Jesus’ divinity. Pay more attention to the verse to see that Jesus calls His disciples “brothers” after His glorious resurrection. To emphasize that His resurrection made human nature closer to God and enabled believers to be the children of the Father, Jesus says He is ascending to His Father and our Father, to His God and our God. In His statement the word “God” apparently corresponds to the word “Father”. This is why Lord Jesus repeats His sentence by replacing “Father” with “God” in the second clause.

Finally, your beloved Scripture makes Issa deny His divinity at a rather late time of the so-called divine revelation to the son of Abdullah. According to the same Quran, Christians started to believe in Jesus’ divinity and worship Him as God long after His ascension. This proves that Mohammed got his scribes to write the verse denying Jesus’ crucifixion after he heard some Jews brag about murdering the Messiah! Thus, the verse you qouted above addressed the Jews of Mohammed’s time rather than the Jews of the first century. Unfortunately, most verses in the Quran were results of occasional disputes Mohammed had with the members of other faiths, denying the association with the genuine historical context of incidents.

More, I would like you to focus on the following sentence of the verse in question:

What does this mean? The party with a different opinion about Jesus’ death is in doubt about it, but is it not a good thing for that part to differ from the Jews? rotfl If they differ about Messiah’s death, that means they do not think and believe as Jews do on the basis of the Messiah’s death! If the differing ones know nothing, who knows the truth? Actually, Mohammed and his followers differ from the Jews and Christians over the Messiah’s death. This proves that Mohammed and his book are in doubt concerning the Crucifixion. Muslims only follow a conjecture! AMEN.
