Dear Brothers and Sisters,

From St. Faustina’s Diary:
My daughter, tell the whole world about My inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and a shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of my mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day, all the divine floodgates through which graces flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is my desire that it be solemnly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the fount of My mercy.
Jesus I trust in You!

I am reading her diary. It is amazing! I was strongly recommend it. Powerful and profound!

But what if one is crippled and cannot approach the Font? What if he is lost and can’t accept His Mercy?

Christi pax,

Lucretius

Dear 1990Domer,

Yes, I began re-reading it for the Year of Mercy and am being blessed by it even more than I was in reading it at previous times. I think God works in us in many ways – listening to the wisdom of the Saints is a sure way to grow spiritually. St. Faustina is particularly a saint for our time.

Thanks for your reply. I also recommend her Diary as a book to be read, pondered and prayed over, and finally to be acted upon. We cannot be exactly like St. Faustina but we can learn from her to give our all to Jesus and to trust Him. We can learn from her also to be devoted to our Mother Mary and to bring Jesus to others as Mary and St. Faustina did in their lives on this earth.

Dear Lucretius,

If one is crippled, that one need only lift eyes and heart to the Font. His Mercy is for the lost and His Mercy comes like rain upon the just and the unjust.

But what if he keeps on sinning, and even plans to do so while desiring the Font?

Dear Lucretius,

“…God’s Love endures forever…” (Ps. 136)

God is more powerful than the evil one who continually lies to the sinner telling him there is no hope because he keeps sinning, and that he is already planning it. God knows the sinner’s heart better than the sinner does and God pursues him “…down the days and down the nights…” (The Hound of Heaven)
