No! I do not agree with the thread title of course.

This question is for paarsurrey and any other Ahmadi Muslims that may be here.

In your own words, not pasting from that link paarsurrey, how did Jesus survive the crucifixion, how and when did He travel to India, and how old was He when He died there of natural causes?

Of course a new Messiah, from India, has stated all this hasn’t he, so that the “real truth” is from his own home town.

Funny about that hey

Why does it matter? Why can’t you let people have their own beliefs?

People believe (still) that the Earth is flat. It is erroneous, just as is the contention that Jesus physically went to India.

Even from a secular historical standpoint, the timeline just doesn’t stand up to scholarly scrutiny.

It’s fine if paarsurrey wants to believe this or anything else.

You may want to ask him why he is having a hard time allowing us to have our own beliefs. We did not go to a Muslim Ahmadi forum and tell them there that they are wrong and misguided. It was paarsurrey who came to a Catholic forum and told us that we are wrong and misguided.

So if you want to jump on someone for not letting others have their beliefs, jump on paarsurrey.

People still believe in a fantasy book known as the Bible. Obviously it’s a bunch of fairy tales, yet people continue to believe it. Let people have their own beliefs and maybe there wouldn’t be so much killing and violence in this world.

You don’t seem to be willing to let people believe in their “fairy tales” either. A somewhat disparaging and disrespectful attitude to take to almost 1.5 billion who do not view the Bible as fairy tales.

Before pointing outward fingers, be willing to point the finger inward - hypocricy works both ways.

I’m perfectly fine if people believe those stories. I was just using it as an example.

Perhaps that was the intent, but it doesn’t lend itself to the literalist nature of posting online. This medium does not allow the infererence of the 93% of communication between humans that is non-verbal without providing sufficent clues.

Having said that, I point to “obviously” in a previous post you made. How is the Bible and what it conveys “obviously” fiction or a fairy tale? Better to say that such is “self-evident to me” or some other indication that you relate a personal opinion and not the academic weight of theological and philosophical scholarship in describing and analyzing Scripture.

Good catch on the use of “obviously”. I apologize for that, in my opinion it’s obvious. But again I’m perfectly fine if people choose to take the Bible literally as long as they do not push it onto myself. IMO if everyone would simply allow people to have their own beliefs this world would be so much better.

“People believe (still) that the Earth is flat. It is erroneous, just as is the contention that Jesus physically went to India.”

So is it erroneous to believe Jesus physically arose from the dead?

No problem, Tyr … I have to catch myself on such points as well when posting, it happens to us all at some point, good intentions or not.

It is a matter of faith to believe the recorded observations of those who witnessed the death of Jesus of Nazareth (or the Galillean if you prefer) and his subsequent resurrection.

Given modes of transportation, even for allowing “divine teleportation,” there is still the matter of timeline. There is no corroborating separate lines of evidence that Jesus was in India. There are accounts regarding Jesus in the Jewish Talmud, as well as a brief mention of the execution by crucifixion of dissidents in Jerusalem (that coincides with the time/place/manner of Jesus’ death). From even a secular historian’s perspective, these constitute separate lines of evidence for the death of Jesus.

No such similar separate lines of evidence exists for Jesus’ appearance in India.

Tyranny,

What is the purpose that you are here. You say you don’t believe in any of this Christianity stuff…why visit a Catholic Christian site? What is it that you seek?

If your heart is truly searching for answers, this forum will be an immeasurable help to you. You will find people most willing to spend their time helping you to understand the Catholic Faith. If you come here from another faith, and wish to show how it contrasts with Christianity in general or Catholicism in specific, then again, you will find people here most receptive to hear what you have to say. They may not agree with you and have a lot of scholarly reasonings to respond back to you in charity.

Well reasoned debate is always welcome.

If you came to be disrespectful to Christianity and Catholicism, or to be argumentative for argument sake, save your breath and energies.

Let people have their own beliefs and maybe there wouldn’t be so much killing and violence in this world.
Except, of course, this would entail allowing people to have the belief that we should not let people have their own beliefs, and that if they don’t agree, they shall be killed. So either you say follow firmly your statement and you let that person believe that (in which case you contradict yourself), or you make an exception and say that those people should not be allowed to believe that. Again, you contradict yourself. So either way, you contradict yourself. There is no third option.

That, my friend, is what is called a self-contradictory statement.

So, no, we cannot just let people have their own beliefs and leave it at that (but it does not follow that they should be killed for not agreeing with us!).

Consider also that by your very act of posting a statement on this board with the intent to pursuade, you are not letting us just believe what we will. You have already violated your own principle. The only way to not violate it is to never speak.

Please, for the sake of all that is good, abandon such sophistries immediately!

Hi
Please don’t be so harsh to Tyranny, let him be a free soul. It is a good thing in my Christians friends that they don’t hate a person, rather they love him, they only hate the beliefs of a person, with reasons, rationality and logical arguments . Please be a good Christian and wellcome him/her here, if possible.
Thanks

One should find truth in the NTBible, but one should not compromise on truth, if it is not found there.

So the topic of this thread is what?
That some say that Jesus was not crucified but instead ran off to India with his mother and lived out his natural life and died there.

Paarsurrey, our Ahmadi Muslim member, keeps telling us that Christians are wrong about the Crucifixtion. That Christians such as Paul made the whole thing up.

He also tells us that Christians did not care about Mary for hundreds of years. That Christians did not even take care of her. Instead the followers of Jesus in India, the Ahmadi took care of her in her old age.

This is the point of discussion of this thread… but people got off track.

No one implied paarsurrey that they hated Tyranny at all.

Please don’t belittle us by saying how Christians should act, as if we are not doing what everyone in this world should be doing.

Tyranny’s post was answered with rationality and logical arguments.

It is logical to ask why he is here querying our Catholic forum, when he believes it is a fairytale.

Back to you paarsurrey, will you please answer my OP, and get this thread back on track? Thanks

Jesus died in India

Okay, now there are also people saying here in Japan that Jesus is buried somewhere in the North, in Shingo, Aomori Prefecture. They claim that it was actually His brother, Isukiri who was Crucified while He fled away across Siberia and went to Jomon Period Japan, where He became a rice farmer, married and had a family. He was buried with His other brother, Ouriki in there.

Here’s one website believing this claims…
thiaoouba.com/tomb.htm

Actually, to both of these claims (that He died in India or Japan) I’ll say, a load of hogwash.

How can a single man have TWO or THREE Tombs, if you count the Talpiot Tomb in Jerusalem?

All these claims seem to suggest that these countries want the Truth to originate in their own country, as that seems to make them greater or something.
And somehow they believe that wherever the Truth is buried, is proof of this greatness.
It is all so ridiculous.
Why would God ever let Himself be buried, in one country, thereby somehow favouring that country?
God allowed Himself to die like a mortal, to experience the same pain as a mortal, but allowed Himself to rise, and be ascended into Heaven, thereby showing His great Divinity.
Jesus is now in Heaven, where no man can claim to own, for that is His Kingdom, where we are all welcome.

My understanding is that the crucifixion of Jesus can be found beyond the bible.

The report of Pontius Pilate, Governor of Judea, which was sent to Tiberius Caesar in Rome, agrees with the graphic description of a lunar eclipse that occurred during the crucifixion [Joel 2:31, Acts 2:16]. It mentions “the moon, which was like blood…”

My understanding is that this report is still with us in a British Museum somewhere; But I can’t find any reliable links to it. Sorry…

I am very sceptical of people who deny the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. His crucifixion is a historical fact. It’s foolish to think he survived it.
