Jesus forgave those who put him to death

And Jesus said: Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. Only now after many years am I beginning to know and live these words Christ left us. It’s all about forgiveness even up to the point of death. We may not all forgive others who do us great harm like Jesus has, but Jesus has shown us that it is possible and to what length we’re called to forgive those who trespass against us. Don’t forget the question about how many times we are to forgive those who wrong us. Not 7 x but 77x. Those who harm us physical or emotionally do this with no knowledge of love and understanding. But we too are to forgive our trespassers and to recognize that they too don’t know what they are doing. I feel that the process of us forgiving them can, through our living example can perhaps help in changing their hearts of stone to a slow conversion of heart.❤️❤️

Forgiving is the hardest thing. I prayed for years for a man who destroyed my family and took everything I’d worked for for 34 years. I was dead inside for a long time even when I was praying. Finally he killed himself and the burden was lifted off my shoulders.
 
I wonder how many of us can say to someone that “I am sorry” when we end up hurting them. I still have a hard time saying so. Am I the only one I wonder?:confused::confused:
