How do we counter those arguments that Jesus committed “cop suicide” since He knew He’d get killed and did not stop it from comming.
And “God’s will” will not help because atheists do not believe in God anyways.

Jesus was killed by Roman soldiers at the demand of the Pharisees. He is not the cause of His death. He merely submitted to the law as then enforced. You could argue someone who accepts his death penalty without struggling is also committing suicide. But they are not.

When one gets killed simply because they told the Truth, only a cynical person could call that “cop suicide”. For that matter, all the martyrs were suicidal.

That’s not what “cop suicide” is. If Jesus had charged a band of Roman soldiers with a sword, then he would have committed “cop suicide.”

But he allowed himself to be taken into custody and judged by lawful authority. That’s not “cop suicide.”

But that “lawful authority” didn’t follow the law. He had his “trial” during the night, when most people would be asleep. The ruling by the Roman authority was based on lies. He allowed this because His death and ressurection were for our salvation. It was a total giving of Himself for us. And what have we given back to Him? This sort of discussion?

Ah…, but if someone comes to appreciate the total and complete Sacrifice of Self that He offered up, then this sort of discussion has been entirely worth while!

Since atheists don’t believe in God, how can they claim that Jesus knew what was coming? They can’t have it both ways.

Jesus is suicidal?

Is it suicidal to trust the justice system?
Jesus had 4 trials.

of course no!!! Jesus was killed by Roman soldiers at the demand of the Pharisees. He is not the cause of His death. He merely submitted to the law as then enforced.
