Well, Jesus wasn’t married, there is nothing to indicate that he was.I’m bringing this discussion from another board but I thought it provocative since the recent issues arising from Dan Browns books being turned into movies. Was Jesus Married. If he was would it affect your faith or the churches teachings?

I am curious, why do you find it insulting to think Jesus might have been married?That story is totally fictitious.
And to me, the fact he would be married wouldnt even enter my mind to be honest, its quite insulting to Jesus to even think about it, in my honest opinion.

In Jewish Law, it has always been taught that a Jewish male is not complete until he finds his “bashert”, his destined one…to make both “parts” again complete. (this stems from the fact that God took a rib from Adam to make Eve, and we believe that ever since, men and women need to find their “other half” to be complete.)

True but there are a lot of similarities between them and christian thought. Even now it is very very difficult for Jewish religious men who do not marry. Jews are obligated to fulfill the mitzvah of pru erevu, which means, “be fruitful and multiply”. In order for him to have done that, he would have HAD to had children! Why didn’t this ever dawn on me before? And that’s not from the Talmud, that is straight from the Torah, in Genesis.
(Not looking to start an argument, I’m just baffled as to why I never noticed this very obvious thing before!)

No, that is not what Christians believe. We believe he fulfilled the Torah by coming as the promised Messiah.
