What significant differences do you see in the miracles performed by Christ and those performed by prophets before Him?

Or similarities, for that matter.

As you know, some faiths say that Jesus’ miracles do make Him part of a diety.

One significant difference is that the prophets went to God before their miracle took place eg Elijah

James 5:17 Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

Whereas Jesus being God, just spoke the word and it was done eg

Mark 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

All miracles come from God, so no significant difference in the Bible imho

Thanks for the replies, folks.

In reading scriture, I noticed the same thing you pointed out, John7. A striking difference, IMO. But I wanted to know what others thought.

There is at least one exception, the raising of Lazarus (John 11:1-44). Christ “looked upward and prayed to the Father. He then cried out in a loud voice ‘Lazarus come out’.”
But Christ raised others with just His word.
There may be miracles in the OT where the prophets didn’t ask for God’s intervention; I’m just don’t recall them.
