The reason some put more emphasis on Jesus than on *Christ * is because of an ignorance of history. For Christ is the King of the Jews, the Messiah of Israel, whom was prophecized, in the Scriptures and oral Tradition, to be a prophet like Moses, a priest like Melzekeh, and a king like David; to redeem Israel, to perpetuate the thanksgiving offering, and to suffer and die and rise again; to bring a New Covenant and a New People; and to bring about an age when God would directly teach Israel, when Israel would have no more enemies, when all nations would come to worship God, when the knowledge of God would spread throughout the world, and when peace, justice, and happiness would be universal. Should Protestants ever study Christ from Judaism, they would all become Catholic. For the thanksgiving offering is not a symbol of a lamb but is the lamb itself, and so, the Holy Eucharist, which is the perpetuation of this offering (as the name Eucharist - thanksgiving - indicates), is not a symbol of Christ, the Lamb of God, but is the Lamb of God Himself.
Now obviously, not all the prophecies are manifested, but they are all fulfilled in Christ Jesus, who is in Himself the Redemption of man, Marriage of God and man, and Kingdom of God. And one should not expect a sudden change in the world, either, for God’s works prove otherwise; indeed, though all-powerful, He is also all-wise, and so, He took billions of years to create the world, and He permitted His children to suffer a long while in Egypt before freeing them, and He had Israel wander through the desert rather than immediately give them the Promised Land, and He did not strike down Israel’s enemies but worked through His children to conquer Canaan, and He did not force any man to convert but worked slowly to turn many persecuters to the Lord. This is why I see nothing wrong in how God fulfills His promises, in how He works through His Messiah: I trust in the Lord because, no matter what He is up against, He who is Omnipotence shall always triumph. Nothing can withstand Him, He who is Justice, and His Holy Will can never be stopped.
