Jesus Pictures In Your Home

Great to see and hear about all these pictures of Jesus 😃

I remember meeting a couple of ladies when I was young who had offices with many small pictures of Jesus and things with the name Jesus pinned up everywhere. At the time I thought it was weird but now being old (as they were then) I see the comfort in surrounding yourself with pictures of Jesus and representations of His Holy Name.

I have a little altar in a nook in our bedroom (pictured)(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.) , then a dipdytch of Christ and the Virgin of Kazan on our bookshelf in the living room, with a small dipdytch of Christ and Our Lady of Perpetual Help on my nightstand.

I would love to enthrone a framed print of the Sacred Heart in our living room (my avatar), but my wife is not religious and still kind of weirded out by it. So I’ll have to wait until she warms up to it more.

I don’t disagree, but this is a thread for people to post about Jesus pictures they have in their homes.

Not reasons why they don’t have one.

It’s unfortunate that on this forum, whenever anybody starts a thread about “Jesus Pictures in the Home”, “Favorite Novena Prayers”, “Ways to Say the Rosary”, etc, someone needs to chime in about why they DON’T have a Jesus Picture, don’t pray Novenas, don’t say the Rosary, etc.
That is not the theme of the thread and such comments are off topic IMHO. I honestly don’t care why somebody doesn’t have a Jesus Picture, I am looking to hear from people who do and maybe see their pictures.

It would be better to start a new thread rather than rain on everybody’s parade, unless the thread specifically asked “Do you have a Jesus Picture? Why or why not?” Which this thread didn’t.

I have a wooden carved plaque with Jesus (along with Mary and St. Joseph) hanging in my entrance way. I also have a few statues with Jesus in His mother’s arms. I actually brought home a Divine Mercy image from my parish yesterday, but have not yet framed it to hang on my wall.

The plaque is really special to me, because my non-Christian husband picked it out as a surprise for me and hung it in a very prominent place(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

Besides the crucifixes here and there, we have a Divine Mercy statue and a Divine Mercy magnet on the fridge. My daughter was calling him “Fridgerator God” and I was relieved to find she meant Jesus and not just the neo-est of neopaganism.

This one is in our dining room.(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

The reflection of your furniture in that picture makes it look like Jesus is actually sitting in your dining room. Like in a chair by your table.

I’ve got some prayer cards of the Kazimirowski image-- the one with the purple halo that was the original. There was a full-sized digital copy made, along with a movie, that toured various churches with a lecture, so I bought mine then. I had noticed that people never sent you Divine Mercy images in the mail— because none of them are really public domain yet. So if you want a Divine Mercy prayer card, you need to go out and buy one.

I take an icon class, so I’ve got my projects around the house. There’s one Mandylion, and one Virgin Orans that has the Christ child, and one of St. Luke painting a Hodegetria. I’ve also got a few icons on hand that I’ve done for other people, but haven’t quite given away yet… including one of Jesus as the alpha and omega, and another of Our Lady of Tikhvin (which is another Virgin/Child). 💚

I have a divine mercy image and a Christ Pantocrator icon.
Reading everyone’s response, I realized I missed a few!

I also have an Our Lady of Perpetual Help Card framed and up in my prayer nook. I have an icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa next to our Christ Pantocrator (My husband, who is non-catholic, picked both of those. He likes eastern icons apparently.) Mary is holding Jesus in both of those so I think it counts. Lastly, there is a little Good Shepard statue on our kitchen table.

There is more than I thought! I still need to find a Sacred Heart image that I like.

In addition to the other dozen or so that I have.

I have a “smiling Jesus” by the front door. It has been there in every house/apartment, was a gift when I came into the Church.

There is a “Last Supper” in the eat-in kitchen.

A couple of Madonna and Child images around the house.

I have a crucifix from my grandmother and a lot of icons. I want an image of the Divine Mercy but I don’t like the Hyla one. I much prefer the one by Eugene Kazimierowski . I will be getting that one.

Ahhhh, forgot to count crucifixes. One in every room except the bathrooms.

Any particular reason why there aren’t any in the bathrooms? You’re not the only person who has said that, so now I’m curious.

I don’t have things hanging on the walls in the bathrooms. Not sure why, just have never done it.

I have a Romero cross, bottle of holy water and prayer card in the downstairs bathroom. Very basic yet Friend’s little girl used it last week and said ‘ooh this is a nice bathroom!’ Just white walls a towel, basin and those items 🙂 that made me happy.

That is gorgeous, I am very fortunate that hubby is a cradle Catholic so he doesn’t mind me having the alter in the lounge anymore ( it weirds out non catholic friends though ) although I must admit when I first moved in all he had was a bible, rosary, picture of the old family church and a crucifix in the house, his picture of jesus and his baptism candle was in a box in his old bedroom at his parents, it was until after I asked his mother about his baptism candle for our wedding day that they came into the house
Even with hubby being a cradle Catholic I had to start small when moving everything into the lounge advent is a great time to do this
