Have found the so-called “Jesus Prayer” to be very useful and helpful in meditation:

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy on me, a sinner

I wonder, is there an equivalent prayer for the Blessed Virgin Mary? If not, does anyone want to take a stab at a quick prayer formula? Thank you and blessings.

Off the top of my head:

Mary, mother of our Savior, hold me close to your heart and in your prayers.

Mary, mother of God, pray that I may honor your Son and Father.

Immaculate Mary, hear our prayers and present them to your beloved Son.

Mama Mary, be with me and give me strength.

One I use often:
Mama Mary, help me to say ‘Yes’ to our Lord as you did.

I think of this prayer: Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Isn’t that very similar in form to the Jesus prayer? And it, too, is prayed repeatedly as part of the Rosary.

I also think the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is similar to the Jesus prayer. “For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world,” over and over.

I have a prayer card which offers these suggestions-

Lord Jesus Christ, by the prayers of our Lady, have mercy on us.

Most holy Lady, Mother of God, pray for us sinners

You might, btw, be interested in my latest blog about exclamatory prayer-
… The unexpected power of this prayer lies in the simple fact that a word is never just a word and a phrase is never just a collection of words. Every time we name something or enunciate a concept, even if we do it hurriedly or only half consciously, then it invokes with it a connection of memories and associated ideas and emotions. These act upon us as frequently as we invoke them and that they may be doing so at a level below our awareness does not make them any the less powerful…

There is the eastern “Angelic Salutation” - similar to the western Hail Mary:

O Theotokos and Virgin, rejoice, Mary full of grace, the Lord is with Thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, for thou hast borne the Savior of our souls
