anyone hear of the nazareth inscription?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazareth_Inscription

add that to matheaws gospel account:

“While they were going, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had happened.
They assembled with the elders and took counsel; then they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,
telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him while we were asleep.’
And if this gets to the ears of the governor, we will satisfy (him) and keep you out of trouble.”
The soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has circulated among the Jews to the present (day).”

so since rumours were going around among the jewish people and priests that the apostles stole Jesus body to this very day meaning when the gospel was written around 60 ad? Then all the sudden you see a inscription of not messing with the graves does this show that Jesus tomb in fact was empty and risen?

never heard of it. funny. intinguing.

Never heard of it.

The empty tomb and what Holy Mother Church says is evidence enough for me. 😃

God bless.

hi wiggbuggie,

I think it could very well have been as a response to the Christian claim of ressurrection. It could also be as a response to Christians taking relics (of saints) which from memory, i think was foreign for pagans. So it at least looks like the command was aimed at Jewish Christians.

I personally think it is important evidence for Christians believing in the ressurrection from the start. This really should be self evident with the Gospels and the early Church history although there was an attemp by past scholars to suggest the ressurrection was ‘made up later’…

I also personally think St. Matthew’s Gospel was written very early before 60 A.D. but the tablets don’t really help in confirming that, do they?

Regards.
