Jesus told us to be pacifists

Do you truthfully not see that the only way you can know for sure that you are not following man is to have Jesus personally tell you? Why do you believe that the Roman Catholic Church is teaching the whole Word of God correctly? Is it not because man has taught you; that the Catholic Church is the one true Church?

By the way I am not saying that the Roman Catholic Church is not the one true Church. What I am saying is that the Church is not teaching what Jesus taught. The only way anyone can know for sure is to have Jesus explain the truth to him or her.
How do you know that what Jesus is saying to you is really Jesus and not just your own desire to hear him?
How can you be sure that you are not just as misguided as others who have been as sincerely convinced of a different position? You can’t all be right.
Since the Holy Spirit would not mislead anyone, they must be going astray on their own, however sincere they might be.

That is a question that every person needs to ask of him or herself. In my case Jesus confirmed his presence with miracles, healings, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Also everything I have been taught is Scripture. Not scripture as man has taught it but just as it reads. Scripture tells us to judge by the fruits produced. Jesus has taught and has given me the grace to love and not to sin.
Jesus told us that if we live his Word he would show himself to us. He has shown himself to me.

Like we’ve never heard that one before . . . please.
We’ve heard just about all of them. I guess Pope-bashing is the chic new winter sport.
Thankful:

Same old. Each man his own little church, his own little godling.

I hope you are meeting regularly with a good spiritual director. Someone with theological education and training who also meets regularly with their own spiritual director.

The gifts you describe may be from the Holy Spirit, but they could also come from your own mind or even from the evil one who has been known to appear good at first in order to lead you into evil bit by bit. A good spiritual director can discern where they come from.

God bless you.

Do you really believe that one can go to school and learn about God? That some man or men can teach someone to be spiritual?
(1 Corinthians 2:10-16) “These are the very things that God has revealed to us through the Spirit, for the Spirit reaches the depts. Of everything, even the depths of God. After all, the depths of a man can only be known by his own spirit, not by any other man, and in the same way the depths of God can only be known by the Spirit of God. Now instead of the spirit of the world, we have received the Spirit that comes from God, to teach us to understand the gifts that he has given us. Therefore we teach, not in the way in which philosophy is taught, but in the way that the Spirit teaches us: we teach spiritual things spiritually. **A spiritual man, on the other hand, is able to judge the value of everything and his own value in not to be judged by other men. As scripture says;’ who can know the mind of the Lord, so who can teach him?’ But we are those who have the mind of Christ.” **

Absolutely. 100%.
When is the last time you have seen a person educated in a seminary pray for a blind person and have God heal him or her?

Are you saying you have done that?

God gives different gifts to different people. One is not required to perform healings or miracles to considered holy. One does not have to recieve visions or talk directly to God to be holy. You cannot set yourself above others who do not have the same gifts. Many people educated in seminaries have the gift of humility, arguably the greatest virtue.

What do you consider Holy?
Yes I have prayed for some one who was blind and God healed that person. That did not makes me holy. What makes me holy is; I don’t deliberately sin.

What about all those other 100’s of Protestant denominations who disagree with you who are also reading scripture “just as it reads”?

Thankful10, a few pointed questions since under your religion it says ‘Other’:
  1. Are you Catholic?
  2. Are you Christian?
If you are Catholic, then how dare you contradict the teachings of Holy Mother Church. If you are not Catholic, then why should we take your personal interpretations of Scripture over that of the Church which has stood, guarded and shepherded the faithful for a little under 2,000 years? If you are not a Christian, then why do you even care?

Why haven’t you continued on in Romans? You need to understand that Paul was explaining to people that no matter how one tries to not sin it can’t be done. Then Paul goes on to tell people that they can have victory over Satan/sin by having the Holy Spirit residing in them.
(Romans 8:1-4) “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, **who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.” **
I think I’m starting to understand what you’re saying, but I don’t agree that you do not sin (see your latest post). To have your sins forgiven you need to get absolution from a Catholic priest, and then do penance to get rid of the temporal punishment due to sin. Even if God has forgiven your sins, you still have the temporal punishment due to sin that needs to be purged away (by penance or through purgatory) before you can actually claim to be free from sin.

Do you really believe that one can go to school and learn about God? That some man or men can teach someone to be spiritual?
Yes, I do:

1 Corinthians 12:28
28 And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, then healers, helpers, administrators, speakers in various kinds of tongues.”

It sure would be silly of God to appoint teachers if we could not learn from them. 🤷

(Matthew 7:21) “It is not those who say to me, ‘Lord, Lord’, who will enter the kingdom of Heaven but the person who does the will of My Father in Heaven. When the day comes many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, cast out demons in your name, work many miracles in your name?’ Then I shall tell them to their faces: I have never known you; away from me, you evil men!”

(Luke 8:21) “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and put it into practice.”
(Luke 11:28) “He replied, ‘blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."
I’m not sure what you’re trying to say with this. Care to elaborate?

One can learn to accept that Jesus is our savior from man, but only the Holy Spirit can teach us to know God.

Can you offer any proof that your ‘revelations’ are from Jesus, and not from your own pride, a devil, or your own good intentions?
