You notice how DJIJIT only joined the forums on Christmas day. I believe he is an anti-Christian who picked Dec. 25 deliberately to try to cause trouble.
This thread reminds me of a Muslim spokesman who directs his message at Christians who don’t really know their religion. His name is Sheikh Khalid Yasin.
He has a simple but amusing method of trying to win converts during one of his speeches:
Call into doubt the authenticity of the NT origins.
Make a case against it’s reliability by speaking in a forceful and convincing manner about not being sure who the NT authors were, a la “Mathew WHO?, Mark WHO?, Luke WHO?” etc.
This can give the person who is easily swayed the impression that this man has real authority to speak the truth.
Later on in the speech, use small bites from the NT to build the case that the whole NT is actually prophesying the coming of “The Prophet”.
Don’t point out to the audience how you have tried to pull the wool over their eyes by this silly, self contradicting nonsense. (imo)
Gottle of Geer put it so well earlier, that I just wanted to add my 2 cents worth to back up that it seems to be a common but very unconvincing way to win a convert. You can’t have it both ways…
