I think that every church that attempts to follow the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth–be it Catholic, Baptist, Mormon, Orthodox, cults, etc-- believes that THEY are the “correct” church properly established by Jesus.
If they didn’t think this way, the church would not exist and people would not join.

.
First of all, thats not quite true.
Secondly, which one can be backed up with actual ancient proof?

Has anyone ever been told that? My jaw hit the floor when I was told that the other day. Is that simply a Baptist train of thought or does every Protestant denomination believe they have the “true” church and Jesus was a_________? I am very curious.
My favorite one was John. I was told St John was baptist. Thats how he got the name John the Baptist! I get a chuckle out of it even today!😃

Yes and it is just plain absurd! Jesus a Baptist? Pleeeasseeeee…:ehh:

They may be referring to the idea that Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. So, at least in that sense, he was a “baptist”. Just like the claim that the Apostles were Catholic, that makes sense only if you define Catholic = all Christians, as many Roman Catholics do.
